You open to the idea of adding custom color for different mob names? The only thing I'm concerned about is if doing a lookup in a table in the specialtext function will cause a lot of overhead.

I been playing with the change in 5mans, I can spot mob names so much easier now.

For my own use I made the adherent mobs appear in green text. Here is the code snippit I used to do this:
Code:
local function SetSpecialText(unit)
  local st = unit.name:lower()
  local st2 = ""
  local color = "|cFF00FF00" -- green
  if st == "cult adherent" or st == "empowered adherent" or st == "reanimated adherent" then
    st = color .. unit.name
  else
    st = unit.name
  end
  return st
end
But my other question, is there a way to disable the rectangle on mouse over? I take it this is the glowtexture under the healthborder theme.

Only thing I didn't test was to see if the name can go out of bounds, but hopefully that doesn't happen.

Works perfect for now I'm adding some custom color for certain names this will come useful for some boss fights where you need to spot a mob out of a cluster of targets. Hopefully that can be added as a feature.

Is there anyway to disable the white rectangle around targets when you mouse over them?

	else
		HpMax = ""
	end
	if TidyPlatesThreat.db.profile.settings.options.showSpecialText then
		if (unit.health / unit.healthmax) < 1 then
			return HpAmt..HpMax..HpPct
		else
			if TidyPlatesThreat.db.profile.text.full then
				return HpAmt..HpMax..HpPct
			else
				return ""
			end
		end
	else
		return ""
	end
end --]]
I was planning on just making a separate text element and completely bypass the default name text from TidyPlates.

This won't be needed in the next version.

I'm not sure were the problem is, I didn't really change a whole lot.

Is it possible to make friendly name plates only show for target only. This would be useful on bloodqueen when you need to bite someone. Then you target them and you see a nameplate on that unit only. Making it easy to spot.

May be useful for mobs as well. Long as its an option for both.

Also for mob plates to change their text or healthbar or frame color based on the name you set in the options.
So you have an options window for a list of names, type, color.

Important mob1, frame, yellow. This would color the nameplate frame yellow when if the name equals this or changes to this during combat.
Important mob2, health bar, orange. Same as above except healthbar on the name plate changes orange.

I saw someone else suggest this earlier in the thread without a response I notice, so its a request I'd like to reiterate:

Could you implement an option that would shrink the plates and give a different glow (say blue) if the mob is being tanked by either someone designated as a main tank, or matching a specified name?

ThreatPlates are great for showing when I have threat, and when I don't have threat. What they don't show is when a mob is being safely handled by one of my fellow tanks (so I can ignore them) or when its running loose beating up healers and other squishies (when I should probably taunt it).

As much as I would like to have that feature available, it's not possible with Tidy Plates considering there are no associations to UnitID's of the mobs the nameplates represent.

The communication from one tank to the other / tank targets won't mean anything if the nameplates are just floating boxes of information that can't tell you which mob EXACTLY that they represent.
I may make a mouseover feature that will look for the target the mob is casting on / attacking and check to see if the player is a tank or not.

It would then display a confirmation graphic of some kind. The nameplate will still show as "low threat" but it will have something to show it's "safeness".

EDIT: or even if we lose threat on a mob, we can have the bar turn blue or yellow. Something drastic, because red/green colorblind is the most common type of colorblind. It makes up of about 80%, if not more, of all colorblind folks,

Thanks again...
You can change the colors of the threat glows, there are other textures you can use and make yourself.

Their is currently a mouse over threat, however the configurations for it can't really be done considering its a fixed frame that's only updated when you mouseover.

I'm not sure how I want to go with its design. It's looking more like a combo points system any anything else.
