Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Look for the frame strata option in the global options.

When I am in cat or bear, and sit to drink, the druid mana bar doesn't visually go up, it just stays where it was when I went into form. Of course, I am actually regaining mana since it's there when I shift back to caster.
That would be an error that I surprisingly have no heard about yet. I will look into next time I get a chance, but doubt that will be soon.

Hi, not sure if this has been asked already, but I was wondering if there was a way to 'reverse' the portrait frame (i.e. have certain units looking to the left instead of right in 3D facial mode)...
3D facial portraits are basically given as in by Blizzard. I did try something with 2D portraits, but it is unpredictable to know which way the model is facing (not the same way always).

Not a huge deal I know, just a pet peeve of mine lol

I looked through the portrait options, and tried out the reverse options in the main heading of each unit's frame, but no luck.
i also was wondering weither this would be possible, would be nice if target and player somehow look at each other

Druid Mana Bar

First, thank you Total for taking the time to create and maintain Stuf, it is, by leaps and bounds, my favorite UF addon and I've been using it for several years.

Something I noticed since I resubbed for Cata, is a problem with the druid mana bar (I play a druid mostly). When I am in cat or bear, and sit to drink, the druid mana bar doesn't visually go up, it just stays where it was when I went into form. Of course, I am actually regaining mana since it's there when I shift back to caster.

Any thoughts? Sorry if this was previously addressed, I shuffled through some comments pages and didn't see it noted as a bug. I'm on the latest release of Stuf, I have a lot of other addons, however I don't think I have any that would affect that display. Thanks anyone with input.

Is there a chance that boss alternative power bar (like Onyxia's electricty percent) is implemented?

Thanks

Hello, I just had a quick question. I'm brand new to non blizzard ui, so I've never worked with Stuf,Pitbill,XPearl, etc. I'm not sure if I'm overlooking an option somewhere, but I was wondering if there is a way to make blizzard interface open over Stuf unit frames. For example, my character screen, achievement page and quest log have a big portrait of me sitting in the middle of them and it makes it difficult to read what I'm doing.

Hey total.

since i've activated boss frames i also get the blizz boss frames shown - on a position where they really suck.

is there any possibility to hide the blizz boss frames while stuf boss frames are active ?

I'll look into it.

@ Draek14 - some mob types have that issue since the beginning of WoW. Nothing that I can really do about it. I'll mention it on the description page soon.

Male Worgen 3D portraits

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already in the comments, but I noticed male Worgen are shown improperly in the 3D portrait. When I set it to display their face, all npc's and mobs correctly have their face shown (including goblins and female worgen) but the male worgen display their full body model. When setting it to full body, it displays their face.

Would this be something I can just fix in the LUA, or would it require an update?
Thanks!

Not in Stuf, and I am unsure of that feature's usefulness.

Nope.

Check if other frames are overlapping that area.

Is there any sort of checkboxes which I simply overlooked? during wotlk I could dispell every debuff I saw on my unit frames with this stuf feature.
Blizzard should fix its functions that tells mods which debuffs are dispel-able.

Yes, you have to adjust individually. Growth will take away the flexibility.

Because party frames are created dynamically. Meaning they're not created until needed (to save resources).

It appears that in that encounter, Onyxia has a "special" energy bar that isn't attached to the boss's frame in the default blizz UI. In my UI, that obviously uses Stuf, I can't see this bar at all. Wondering if this is user error on my part or if the feature doesn't currently exist in the addon.

I guess I need to look into updating the boss frames. Another issue was reported.

You can look at the code. There's actually been support to add some of that stuff externally.

2: Actually not so much making me a better tank, but making me look better on my screen. The loladin holy power bar has no costymizations. Would it be posible to use a simple standard bar as holy power bar?
First, both can shown as a text if you use custom Lua. 1. Threat meters are most common for this since it can be sorted...it would not be sorted if it was displayed on party frames. There is already a way to see if someone gets aggro.

2. If I was still playing my paladin, then I would figure a nice way to display; but I just use the default bar. If I did the paladin's, I would also have to do something for Druids and Warlocks.

where can i find more stuf layout?
I am still thinking about adding a way to select from a collection of layouts, but I do not want to be the one to maintain it. Also, I do not want to encourage laziness. I want people to be creative with Stuf.

@ the rest - either your bug report has been noted or what you want can be done with custom Lua
