TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:
/way 14.78 23.90
/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback
/cway
/closestway

Waypoints not working in DK (Horde) start zone.
I just got a new computer, reinstalled WoW and I'm still reinstalling all my favorite Addons; Lightheaded, Doublewide and TomTom being among them.
I rolled my very first Death Knight (Horde). I know, I seem to be the last on the band wagon. Anyway, TomTom doesn't appear to be working for the Death Knight starting area. It works for all my other toons just fine (Alliance and Horde) in other zones but when I try to click on coordinates in Lightheaded nothing happens and I can't set coordinates on the world map. The coordinates are showing at the bottom of the world map which helps, but I can't set waypoints. I have the coordinate block and floating waypoint arrow disabled. If needed, I can test them but I don't use them. I prefer to set waypoints via Lightheaded or the world map and follow the arrows on the minimap. I've been using that combination of mods (Lightheaded, Doublewide and TomTom) for quite a while and I have to say kudos for some great work! This is the first time I've ever had any trouble with TomTom. I'm also a huge fan of Clique. Thank you for some outstanding mods! |

I use a minimap mod, called SexyMap. Very nice mod, with a nifty feature to superimpose a hud on screen center. Great for traking gatheriables. However, it does this my removing the minimap, itself. So while hud-tracking, the minimap is blank, without textures, and the tracking dots appear onscreen hud (but no ground textures). It seems that this overrall process is breaking TomTom, as enabling the hud, 'Freezes' TomTom's coordinate tracking. It simply does not update it's location any longer. So, in testing this, i enabled the QH arrow, as well as the TomTom arrow, both pointing to the same quest marker. QH continues to function properly and updates my location tracking. TomTom, just stops dead. Now, i've tried to renable the minimap, while tracking, by editing the lua, but this causes some blinking of the tracking dots, so i re-enabled it. I'm not really sure why the minimap needs to go away, for the hud to work, but that's the way the mod is set now. Regards. |

I ran AddonProfiler today, and i noticed TomTom using quite alot of CPU whenever i set a few waypoints (5 for example). Here's the screenshot after the test:
http://i26.tinypic.com/9kxmk9.jpg As you can see, it seems to be either some kind of leak or a bug. |

Could it be more efficient, probably. Does it actually cause a problem as-is? No. EDIT: Let me rephrase that. What makes you think there is even an issue here?

I haven't run into any problems at all, the reason i posted was that i thought the numbers were quite high versus the other addons i'm running (I've not really done much profiling before, so it just seemed alot to me). I don't mean to be negative or anything, thanks for the clarification though.

Well, it's not a "problem" as "causing issues other than screwing himself".
It just too slow to react if there's more than few waypoints. I.e., when doing Midsummer bonfires, i've had about 50 waypoints set and displayed on map and often run in situation, where waypoint arrow could not turn into knob when it should or not updating (removing) at arrival for long. Very long. I could stay in range of 3 yards for a minute, and it will not disappear, while arrival distance set to 29 yards and arrow set to point to this very WP. Only move out and back in the arrival radius was helped. I'd suggest to not display waypoints from other continents at all... and may be implement option to only display (and track) assigned waypoint on minimap.

Please don't come tack onto an existing issue.. If you have a problem with TomTom.. report it. I know my addons well, and I'll provide as much support as I can. I was merely informing the other user that relative numbers don't indicate a problem in any way. Yes, TomTom is doing calculations OnUpdate. Yes, I have made efforts to make them more efficient. Please file a bug report, if you have an issue that can be reproduced. EDIT: Since I don't like removing my own words, let me clarify. If there is an issue with 50+ waypoints and TomTom updating, then that is almost certainly a result of Astrolabe. That's the addon that TomTom uses to place its icons on the world map, and pretty much do all of its operations. If there's an issue, I would like to get it resolved but this is not the way to go about it.
