using threatplates bar texture fixed it. These make the bar color brightness much better.

The new version sounds like it's going to kick ass.

The plates shown in this post look awesome. Except maybe for the star icon. These look better than any plates i've seen.

How come something like this is not being used. They look so much better.

So for now if I wanted to change the color based on the name. Where would I edit the LUA?

This won't break anything since i'm setting unit.name a new value?

Code:
 if not plate.NameText then OnInitialize(plate) end

 local c = db.name.color
 if db.options.showName then

   local st = unit.name:lower()
   -- local color = "|cFF00FF00" -- green
   local color = "|cFFFFFF00" -- yellow
   if st == "cult adherent" or st == "empowered adherent" or st == "reanimated adherent" then
     unit.name = color .. unit.name
   end

  plate.NameText:SetText(unit.name)
 else
  plate.NameText:SetText(nil)
 end

The threat system works nice for dps. But one problem, it covers up the selection rectangle. For threat I have it change the color of the health bar. But it also keeps using the outer edge of the bar that covers up the selection border.

Nice work though, but I'm going to have to turn that feature off for now.

If I could adjust the way the clickable region worked, I would, however I can't.

As for this:

Code:
 if not plate.NameText then OnInitialize(plate) end

 local c = db.name.color
 if db.options.showName then

   local st = unit.name:lower()
   -- local color = "|cFF00FF00" -- green
   local color = "|cFFFFFF00" -- yellow
   if st == "cult adherent" or st == "empowered adherent" or st == "reanimated adherent" then
     unit.name = color .. unit.name
   end

  plate.NameText:SetText(unit.name)
 else
  plate.NameText:SetText(nil)
 end
Should be this:

Code:
 if not plate.NameText then OnInitialize(plate) end

 local c = db.name.color
 if db.options.showName then

   local st = unit.name:lower()
   -- local color = "|cFF00FF00" -- green
   local color = "|cFFFFFF00" -- yellow
   if st == "cult adherent" or st == "empowered adherent" or st == "reanimated adherent" then

     st = color .. unit.name
   end

  plate.NameText:SetText(st)
 else
  plate.NameText:SetText(nil)
 end
You could also just change the SetTextColor and that would be much safer:

Code:
local c = db.name.color
local st = unit.name:lower()
if st == "cult adherent" or st == "empowered adherent" or st == "reanimated adherent" then
	plate.NameText:SetTextColor(1, 1, 0) -- Yellow
else
	plate.NameText:SetTextColor(c.r, c.g, c.b)
end

Well before you came out with this update. The plates changing color never overwrote the selection rectangle. So how come it cant be fixed whats different than before?

Thanks I used the setcolor code. This looks much better way of doing it.

I don't understand what you mean with the overwriting. Do you have a screenshot?

The latest version is causing some lag in raids. Had to disable the mod

Disable'ing the threatplates option didn't fix it.

Screen stuttering that kinda thing.

When threatplates option is turned on. They use a glow texture around the plate. For green/red/yellow. This texture covers the target highlight. Making the highlight useless.

Also my previous post in raids this mod is causing stutter. So it must be doing some loop or something cpu intensive when a lot of plates are on the screen.
Please avoid double posting there is an edit button for a reason.

I haven't been noticing any stuttering.

The targeting texture is set to overlay, but depending on the opacity of the nameplate the visibility of it does drop.

Well I was seeing stutters on dreamwalker cant think what else could be causing it. So is there a way it can be fixed? If the threat was only changing the color of the healthbar and not the border then the selection rectangle would still be visible. If not I can dig up a screen shot in a while.

Ok got a screenshot here. Now in a raid they're green, but when they're this color green/red/yellow. The selection rectangle doesn't show up. All that is needed is the healthbar part to change color not the whole plate. Maybe tanks would like it that way but for dps that selected target feature is very important.

You can drop the opacity on the threat glows, allowing you to see the target overlay.

Maybe this is bugged? The opacity setting for the threat colors doesn't change the borders at all. I know this didn't happen in your previous version. Don't see a threat glow option anywhere.
