Guild Changes

Version: 0.4
by: Syzgyn [More]

Guild Changes lets you save and record your current guild roster, then compare 2 different records to see what has changed. It records people coming in and out, and changes in level, rank, note, and officer note.

Being an Ace2 mod, Guild Changes integrates seamlessly with FuBar if you use it, and shows up as a minimap icon if you dont.

NOTE: This is still in testing! There will be bugs and features missing!

Known Bugs:

Cool mod, however in the future please make sure to zip an entire folder structure so people can unzip directly to Interface\AddOns. Conformity is key

My appologies on the zip file. That's what I get for pushing it out at 3AM :P

The bug from those two lines is because for some reason it doesn't always get your current guild name correctly. Now if it doesn't have the guild name, you won't be able to select records to compare. There's also a new Menu item named 'Refresh', use it if it says it can't get the guild name.

Im really liking this addon it has a lot of potential. The following are my feature requests:
1. The ability to delete saved days and/or times
2. The ability to choose to save data for just the day or to save it for a particular time. This would just need a conditional statement that would change the line local timestamp = date("%w") to local timestamp = date("%m/%d/%y %I:%M:%S %p") depending on the option selected
3. This goes with request 2. The ability to not save data for a new time if the information has not changed since the last update. This would prevent a lot of uneeded tables.

Thanks.

WinZip should be able to deal with .rar files. If not, I know WinRar can.

I use ZipGenius, it's nice, free, and can handle any compression type, including tar.gz The linux standard. I highly reccomend it.

Great idea and great addon, thank you very much.

I maintain this kind of list for our guild website using catchafire and some windows diff tools, so your addon will be very handy.

Because I would like to have the results on our website I'm looking forward for some enhancements in th enew year

1. Please add a kind of export of the "compare" result. A new (editable) window to copy/paste the result to a normal editor would be fine.
2. Like Acirac said I also would like to see a function to delete saved timemarks; what would be even better if it would be "up to user defined date" (like all timemarks older than 26.12.2006)
3. If you could seperate the english descriptions I will be more than happy to provide a german translation for GuildChanges

Thansk for your work and for reading / considering our enhancement requests

Have a great,
Stefan (aka Xanatandor)

No, WinZip doesn't handle RAR files. Neither does Windows or the Mac natively, as they do with ZIP files.

No reason at all to RAR UI mod files like this. All it does is make things more difficult for the average user.

(disclaimer: I'm no average user. I have both WinRAR as well as the free 7-zip. But just because I personally have no issues with RAR files, doesn't mean no one does. Or that such people should be forced to install a program they'll never use for anything else just to open your mod .)

Otherwise, nice work . Looks to be, so far, a FuBar-accessible, GUI version of ES_GuildCheck. Look forward to future development.

Have you considered applying for Wowace.com SVN access? Authors I know that use it find it to be a great help in handling updates/bug fixes/localization/etc..

I didn't realize that about .rar files. My bad, it's .zip now.
I'm going on vacation for a week, but after that I'll probably end up applying for SVN access.

Glad you like my mod, cheers!

can more than one recording og the guild roster be done in one day? I did it twice today and it still wasn't showing me that a member left the guild...

Anything recorded on the same day will overwrite its self, if you're not using the date format with hours and minutes in it.
