Advanced Trade Skill Window  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.8.0
by: Slarti [More]

ATSW is a complete replacement for Blizzards tradeskill window with more overview and special functions.

This replacement (works for all tradeskills, including enchanting!) provides you with:

- a better overview
The ATSW is bigger than the standard window, resulting in a much better overview over the thousands of items you can produce. Additionally, it lets you sort your recipes either by groups (as in the standard window), alphabetically or by difficulty. Alternatively, ATSW even lets you create your own groups and sort the recipes the way you like!
ATSW also has a filter function: enter something into the filter line and ATSW hides all recipes that don't contain the text you entered. But this filter function can do more: it's a powerful search function that can filter for minimum/maximum level requirements, producable item counts, item rarity (color) and reagents necessary. Check out the readme for details on using this function!

- more comfort
The ATSW has a production queue: you can queue several different items and have them all produced automatically by just clicking one button.
The ATSW is able to consider items you have to produce in order to use them as reagents in the production of other items. So: if you need item A to produce item B, you don't have to manually produce first item A, then item B. The ATSW does that for you: you just tell it to produce item B and it automatically queues the production of item A and - afterwards - item B. If you are missing some reagents to produce both items you get a message telling you exactly which reagents you need.
ATSW helps you telling your friends what reagents you need for a specific item: just click on a recipe with your shift-key pressed and the chat line opened and the reagent info will be added to the chat line.
ATSW shows you what reagents you need to process the whole production queue. It even tells you how many of each reagent you have in your bank, on alternative characters on the same server (in this case, it can even tell you on which characters) and which reagents are buyable from merchants. In case of buyable reagents ATSW can automatically buy all missing and available items from a merchant when you are speaking to him.

ATSW explicitly supports ArmorCraft, LS3D craft info and Fizzwidgets ReagentCost. Other addons that change the original tradeskill window will probably not work with ATSW.

v0.8.0:
- changed: ATSW updated for patch 4.0

Lightbulb Feature Request: Favorite LDB

I actually requested this on the forum but I thought if I asked here and Skillet if you might see fit to work together and create a plug-in that will work with both.

I love the categories option on ATSW. I was wondering (and this is an idea I had from another post on the forum), if any addon developer would be willing to create a Favorites LDB Addon, for one step clicking/creating. What I'm picturing is say everytime your bags get full you like to bolt all your cloth or turn them into bandages. You go to the covenant LDB, roll over it and have a list of your favorites in the tooltip. We could then roll down the mouse until bolt of Bolt of Frostweave or Heavy Frostweave Bandages were highlighted. Left click to make a single and right click to create all.

It would be awesome if it could actually do a que process where you can do two or three things. Like say if you wanted to make imbued frostweave you could right-click on the create all. It would then go through the process of making the bolts of frostweave, then have a popup stating "Click if you would like to proceed." Click the red button and then off it would go.

A possible way to do multiple crafting (or what I might call projects)might be to set up a step system. For example:
Select Skill Set: (check box for Blacksmith/Smelting/Cooking/First Aide. This is what determines what Category it would be in.)
Name: Bronze Bars(This would be the name that appears in favorites)
Step 1:Smelt Copper -(right click from recipe book to fill in)
Step 2:Smelt Tin -(right click from recipe book to fill in)
Step 3:--you would obviously leave the rest of the fields blank because they wouldn't be needed. Maybe after you filled in a recipe and tabbed another field would appear or you could have a max of how many can be in project like 5 recipes.
Then have a "done" button to complete the process.

So when adding recipes to the Favorites you could have two options: Single recipe or multiple crafting/projects.

Single recipe should allow you to include making a basic cooking fire but since that's not in the recipe list but in the spell book I thought it should be mentioned.

There could also be the option of multiple LDB's for each skill or just have one list for those who won't have much. If there is only one LDB. You might get a list like this:
Cooking:
Fish Feast
Tailoring:
Create Frostweave Bag
Create Moonshroud
Create Ebonweave
Create Glacier Bag
Enchanting:
Enchant Chest - Powerful Stats
Exceptional Spellpower
Enchant Boots - Icewalker
...

On the LDB itself maybe you could assign an absolute favorite to show, or have an option for the last used. Then with a middle click/mod Right or left click to access the menu which would have the options of A) Add recipe (--> Single recipe, Project; B)Manage List C) Other options -Auto confirming some of the boxes below if possible. Include bank inventory-it would be nice if that was per skill but I don't think that's possible .

Mange List: It would be nice if it had very simple popup frame. Options might be: -Add (just incase) -Edit -Delete -Top -Bottom -Alphabetical -Show Categories (check box allowing skills names to show Imagine the list above without the skill names.). It might be nice if you could highlight the recipe as well and left click to drag it up or down to position it in the list or right click and it would also have the menu -Add/Edit/Delete

Pitfalls I could see:
If you don't have the regents: If you don't have the mats for one of the multiple recipe items or even a single recipe maybe a movable pop-up box. "Mats not available for: Crafting item" Since you can either left click for creating one or right for creating all I'm assuming this would only happen if you selected create 1.
If you already have the items in your inventory: ATSW and Skillet already consider this in the que when making an item. I would hope there would be a way to just make what was needed. Possible pop up: "You have 7 bolt of imbued frostweave but need 11 more to complete project. Click 'Confirm' to create the desired amount. ~Confirm~" The desired amount would be the 11 bolts you needed. It might be nice to have an auto confirm for this.
Items in bank: Depending on the addon or lack there of it might include your bank information. So you might have a option when creating all. "You can make 15 bolts of x with current inventory or 45 bolts of x with inventory in the bank. "Click proceed to do current inventory only or cancel to wait until you've gathered inventory from the bank." Also this might fall into the created regent section as well so maybe that could mention it as well. "You have 7 bolt of imbued frostweave in bag and 5 bolt of imbued frostweave in you bank but need 6 more to complete project. Click 'Confirm' to create the desired amount. ~Confirm~" Before or even after you click confirm and create the 6 bolts you needed the "continue process" would display allowing you to run to the bank pick up the items and then continue with making your items.
Interrupted when crafting: It would be nice to have click-able option to continue or cancel.

Those are the only issues I can think of. I also realize that this is a very detailed request. Please let me know if is at least feasible. Not to mention if anyone would want to pick up the gauntlet for this.

~Thanks This was inspired by Ara Broker-Cooldown options and the forum post mentioned above.

For anyone who still prefers ATSW over any other profession mods (like myself), here's what someone posted on Curse regarding the Inscription bug:

"My guess with the Inscription issue is that since both papers and inks are available from vendors, ATSW is getting bogged down trying to calculate an infinite number of items that can be made with items purchased from vendors. I haven't tried this yet, but it's possible that turning off the "Consider Buyable Items" option will give some relief. Unfortunately, it will then turn that option off for the entire account. [...] OK, I've given this a try and it appears to solve the problem. [...] It turns out I was mistaken about the option being account wide, so you can turn it off for specific crafts on specific characters."

Skillet was doing the job of ATSW, and a lot better one too, but its being phased out, the good news is that Lilsparky has just announced he is making a new one:

"2010-04-05 update: i am in the process of writing a replacement for skillet. i'm hoping to have something functional in the week ahead." -lilsparky

Thanks for the links, had a look at them but none of those can offer everything I like so much in ATSW.

If Slarti has indeed cut the life support off this addon, is there a way for another addon author to pick it up in his stead? I've used this addon for years, grown quite used and attached to it, and I'm sure a lot of other people would also really like to see this addon fixed again.

resource hog on inscription

Sadly Slarti does not seem too interested in maintaining this. The inscription bloat has to do with inks being considered buyable. They should be removed from that list, since you need ink to buy ink anyway. Virtually every recipe is considered craftable with buyable items.

Window Scale

How can I change size of ATSW? Scale it down a little. It's taking up a huge part of my screen. Thank you very much.

I'm getting the same problem. However, only when I sort by Category.

Actually my greatest mumble about this and skillet is the same. I think the simplest solution for me would be the ability to delete items from the shopping window from any toon. Instead of having to log back into that character and clean up, I'd rather just be able to delete from the shopping list itself from anyone. Given that, leftovers are no longer a major pita.

When I enchant someone's gear in the trade window, the enchant is not removed from the queue after it's complete: If I forget to manually delete it after I'm finished, the mats window pops up next time I go to the AH on one of my toons and I have to go back and relog my enchanter, then delete the enchant from the queue to get it to stop appearing. This does not occur when I enchant scrolls in my inventory. The addon even stores this info cross-realm, so if (for example) I forgot to delete an enchant from the queue on my horde enchanter, it will show up in the purchase queue at the AH on my alliance toons on a different server.
Needless to say, this is pretty annoying. FWIW, the same situation exists with the scribe shoulder enchants.

Request, of sorts

I love this addon, particularly the ability to create custom categories.

Inscription is badly broken though. Each item crafted can freeze the game for upwards of 15 seconds. I have queued up 60 inks, gone and made dinner, ate the dinner, and come back, and still not be through the queue.

I have two requests beyond fixing inscription:

1. have all saved information include the realm along with the character name. I have characters on different realms with the same name and it confuses the hell out of this addon.

2. When hovering over a recipe in the left panel, can you have the tooltip show the actual item instead of what mats are available? It would make things INFINITELY better. If you want me to explain why, just ask and I will explain.
Inscription is broken because every reagent for every recipe, except the inks, is technically buyable. Therefore, you can ALWAYS technically make an inifinite number of everything, which is recalculated for every glyph, etc, in the tradeskill (and there are over 450 items (three times more than most) taking a much longer time per cycle to actually process post-item creation cleanup. As I just posted, the fix is to denote the inks as non-buyables, so that the cleanup moves faster.

Despite being able to buy Inks at the Inscription Shop in Dalaran, would you PLEASE mark them as non-buyables? PLEASE mark Inks as a normal reagent and not as a Buyable. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
