LumUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.04
by: neverg [More]

About

lumUI is a UI Compilation created having in mind utility within an attractive look focused on information. The main element of the UI is my oUF layout, oUF_lumen. This UI is full featured yet keeping it simple and easy to install without needing to configure lots of addons.

Installation & Instructions

1. Backup your Fonts folder (if you have it), Interface and WTF folder.
2.Unzip the archive into the World of Warcraft _retail_ folder. Not the Addons folder, the World of Warcraft _retail_ Folder. This is because inside the archive you will find a Fonts folder and an Interface folder.
3. That's it, there is no WTF because it's not needed by any addon needing configuration (at least important ones).
4. Refer to the individual addons if you need help configuring them. Most of the addons in this pack are configured through Lua editing so they might not be fitted for some users.
5. This UI works out of the package. You might only need to move some elements of the frames around.
6. If you need to override any default options please do so on `config.lua`. Go to LumUI and oUF_Lumen default config files (`defaults.lua`) to see the available options and override your settings on the `config.lua` file (save this file between updates, both for LumUI and OUF_Lumen).
7.In config.lua (LumUI and oUF_Lumen) there is an example to use a more compact centered layout (https://i.imgur.com/b7PG5va.jpg), uncomment the comments files to achieve that layout. Since version 9 LumUI uses a more wide layout with the Action Bars following the layout used by Blizzard default action bars. If you uncomment those files, please disable, reload and re-enable LumUI so the layout resets.

Addons

Keeping addons to a minimum from now on. You can supplement the UI with other addons of your choice.

  • LumUI
  • oUF_Lumen (Unit Frames)
  • Butsu
  • tullaRange

Notes

* There is a price to pay for a UI with a low need of config and simplicity... most of the stuff is edited in the lua files. Especially all addons that begin with lum (my own) are almost all edited through lua. Open the lua files in the beginning of the files there are lots of configs to tweak stuff.

Have you actually read the description on the UI?

This UI is Lua based it's not ment for people that don't know what that even is. If you want to move a Frame, you go to the Frame addon I left on the description, that is oUF_lumen. There you'll read that to move the frames you install an addon called oUF_MovableFrames (that I actually linked there) or you go the config file (cfg.lua) of oUF_lumen and do it yourself by finding the line where it's defined.

Good luck.

Oh my, a compilation I can acutally see myself using without having to jump through massive hoops!

Couple of quick questions: What scale is this UI meant to be on? I'm running it at 1680*1050, and I've had to fiddle with the scale to get it large enough for my terribad eyesight to see, but small enough to not overwhelm me.

Also: Your oUF layout supports ClassColors (omg THANK YOU) but things like the borders do not, and at 2 am I can't seem to code worth anything. I think I can throw in ClassColors as a dependency, but I don't know if there's an easier way around that.

Scale? The Blizzard scale? Don't know exactly but any scale will work I guess... I use it below the middle.

And what borders are you refering to?

The class colored panel borders at the bottom and around the minimap.

ETA: I just fixed it:

In lumDrops.lua, line 20, and lumStats.lua, line 56 change to:

Code:
CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS[select(2, UnitClass("player"))]

I'm still clueless to what you want. The borders are already class colored, so how do they don't support class coloring? You mean support for the ClassColors addon from Phanx? If so, not it doesn't I didn't remember of that. :P

Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry, it's 2 am and I'm not making much sense to myself. =\ I just adjusted the lines I stated below for my local copy of your UI to support Phanx's ClassColors. That's what I was trying to convey.

Yes but that way you will get errors if you are not using the addon!

I've added support now anyway, next release will add !ClassColors support for lumDrops and lumStats.

I'm not able to see any vehicle combo points during Malygos encounter, can anyone confirm this?

Other than that, it's a fantastic UI

That is specific to oUF_lumen. To be honest haven't tried the Malygos fight since I've done the layout so probably it doesn't work. Will try to try it out on eventually, but since CC will probably not have anything like that, I'm not sure I will be arsed.

Nice one, I like the simple and clean look.

I just would love to know how to remove the swing bar.. tried to delete ouf_Swing, but doing this lets the swing bar stay on my screen all the time. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Well, reload the game (exit the game and start it again) and it won't be there anymore.
