Grid has been continued as Plexus by Doadin. Use that instead; Grid has not been updated since 2018 and will not be updated in the future.

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

I'm always amused when people threaten to stop using an addon if some change they want isn't made to it, like that will have any effect on me whatsoever.

That said, if you'd bothered to read the addon description and click the link to the ticket tracker, there's already a feature request ticket for manual group filters, and that ticket is already marked as accepted, which means the feature you want is already on the to-do list. As to when it will happen, there is no specific ETA. I have a full time job, I have other responsibilities and hobbies besides Grid, I haven't even played WoW or had an active subscription in about 9 months now, and I'm not even done updating all 50 of my addons for 7.0, so adding new features to Grid when it works just fine already is a pretty low priority. Stassart is currently helping out with Grid, but he also has a job and other things to do, so I don't know when he may have time to work on it either.

If you want it to happen faster, there are two things you can do:

1 - Learn WoW addon programming and submit a patch.

2 - Pay my salary so I can quit my job and have lots of time to work on Grid.

If you can't/won't do either of those things, no amount of begging or threatening will accomplish anything.

(Though your explanation doesn't really make any sense. If you don't care about raid frames enough to have raid frames for all of your raid members, why do you care about having raid frames for any of your raid members?)

I think you are misunderstanding what people are asking for with the group settings.

Some people may want dynamic group sizing, but I, and it seems a few others, do not.

Due to how my UI is set up, I don't want to see more than 25 people in grid. I do not want it to scale to 40 even if there are 40 people in my group. I am not a healer, and I will never care about a group larger than 25 because of mythics, which is even fewer than 25.

We want the option to pick 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 again. With how the dynamic setting works, I join a 40 man world boss raid and grid instantly fills my screen. I have never wanted this.

You can see that my mythic group is obviously 20, but I have my UI set up to show at most 25 (you can see the 21st person at the bottom).


I have been using Grid since Burning Crusade, and I love the addon, but I'm afraid I'll have to drop if it this fixed group size feature is not added back in.

No, it's not set to 40 man. It's set to "automatic" -- if there are 25 players in your group, you should see a layout sized for 25 players; if there are 8 players in your group, you should see a layout sized for 10 players; etc. If you're seeing the layout sized incorrectly in some situation, please provide more information -- where were you? what kind of group were you in? how many players were in the group? what did Grid look like (include a screenshot)? what did you expect to see instead?

Missing feature..??!!

where is the options to choose how many people i wanna see in the group/raid..for example if im in a 40 man raid there used to be an options where you could only see 5 people in the grid but now it s always set to 40 man.

ahhh, thanks. choosing a layout did work!

I onyl have an error in my bugsack but it's not related to grid, it's my combat text addon that is outdated.

Probably related to ticket #835, in which case the issue is most likely that you were using a rather outdated version before, and Grid is now trying to load a named layout that doesn't exist, and it's fixable by going into your options and choosing a new layout. Future versions will detect this situation and fix it automatically.

If that doesn't help, please click that red BugSack icon and look for any errors from Grid. If there are more than one, just post the first one (not the first displayed, which is actually the last [most recent] one).

I have not played for a few month but just came back like a week ago and it didn't work since.
Do i have to delete it and reinstall it completely?

Grid Missing Magic Debuff Icon

Hello,

I am having trouble with Magic debuff icons not showing up on only 1 certain toon. On other alts this doesn't appear to be a problem but when I change over to my monk, Magic debuff icons don't appear on my frames. I am a healer so this is extremely important because I need to know when to dispell and not having the debuff show up puts me at a disadvantage.

Is there any help I can get with this? I've been using this addon on and off since early Cata so I am a bit familiar with it. Anyways thanks for the help.

Phanx gave me access to upload to WoWInterface and I have uploaded a new 7.0.3.1 version that includes fixes for a few tickets. Now the current version on Curse and WoWInterface are identical.

The 7.0.3 version on WoWInterface was producing LUA errors when I tested it. Phanx moved Grid on Curse from wowace to Curseforge that allows manual uploads to get around the Curse packager issue we have been having and we are now using a third-party packager.

They are both functionally the same. The file on WoWI now does not have errors. The version number is different because I manually named the file I uploaded to WoWI, while stassart (who is doing most of the actual code maintenance right now) was tagging several different version numbers in an attempt to get the Curse packager working (it's still broken). The version recommended on Curse just happened to be the one file the packager managed to make, and the way the Curse project page is currently set up doesn't allow manually uploading ZIP files.
