The futuristic style uses RaidClassColor and EnergyTypeColor. Thus it is not possible to use animation fogs since they are colored by themself and cannot be recolored.

What would be possible is to use a white or a black fog with a little alpha.

The diablo style still uses the fog animation.

Ok you guys now take a look:

http://s.wowinterface.com/preview/pvw18507.jpg

This is oUF_Orbs with the "d3orb"-style on. I am developing this version atm.

As you can see it starts to look like the normal Diablo3Orbs UI but with the full oUF functionality.

Thats what I am trying to tell you all the time, just need some time to create the style.

But I need some help since I have to decide where to put PET, FOCUS, TARGET, TARGETTARGET and PARTY.

Castbars will be normal statusbars and for player and target only.

But which unitframes should get Orb style and which should use a normal style? What do you think?

* making this comments in all freedom without being hindered by any
knowledge of lua programming in general or ouf in particular. *

1. getting all/most users to agree on this might be harder than programming some kind of gui for positioning orbs 9or ouf elements in general). is it even possible to program a gui ?

2. a bit of a shame really. i have played with orbs for a few days now and i really like the "castrings".

3. same as [1.] i think, it will be hard to get some kind of sensus from the users of orbs. go with your own gut-feeling untill such time as there is a gui where people can decide for themselves.

general. i know diablo has red/blue orbs. in wow i feel green/blue would be a better choice tbh.

never mind me, keep up the good work.

p.s. regarding the gui to name one. is ouf the -best- platform to create unitframes?, it seems to me it has some real limitations.

i like the d3 style more, cept having target with buffs/debuffs, where ur action bars are(and obove it , small addition unitframes from another addon, for focus , targetoftarget, targetoftargetoftarget.), and a separat (grafic enhanced frame somewhere for my pet). putting up a screen to show somewhat how i mean, move the d3 frame above my border , and be keeping actionbars, pet bar, map, chat. within the border. not exactly sure where to put my personal buffs/debufss yet, but i think i can find room for em somewhere =).

heres the screen, on side sides u see my actionbars wich are temporarly moved aswell as the map, i want to only move the entire d3 "frame" ontop of the border. u get my basic idea atleast. id have the other "missing" unitframes small and near the area.

http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?i...iscreenyg4.jpg

my target is ofcouse my pet in the screen, u the pet unitframe to the left.

Energy!

In the process of updating my UI for 3.0, so trying out Orbs on the 3.0 PTR, and liking it immensely. But energy still ticks! I reported it as an oUF bug, but that was a mistake on my part it seems.

Problem is with Orbs, and needs to be implemented there?

http://www.wowinterface.com/portal.p...bug&bugid=4769

My lua knowledge amounts to being able to find variables and change them, so I'm kinda lost here :/

I got access to the PTR a few days ago. oUF_Orbs will run with a few changes from start on. Faction call for example was changed.

The smooth power call sounds neat. I will implement it.

Its really easy to do, just find where I build self.Power (careful, I do this twice, once of d3orbs style and once for futureorb1 style) and add

Code:
self.Power.frequentUpdates = true
It will take me 1-2 days to relase a runing UI after the patch goes live.

*edit*
Just tested the code it. Worked properly on PTR.

Zork I love the look of these. Tried them on beta and keep getting an error.

orbs.lua:108: attempt to index global "unitreactioncolor' (a nil value)

Look even better live than on screen shots!

finally found the "smunitframe".

to me that was the ultimate circular unitframe. maybe you can use some of its code, it looks abandoned anyway. i dont think the pics show all, but it had cast rings and mirror rings too.

Aggro coloring is still not working properly, oUF_Banzai is bad >_<.

Compatibility with Clique?

Hello. I just started using oUF_Orbs in my UI yesterday; very nice. I am having a problem with Clique--some (most?) of the frames don't seem to have names, so they don't show up in Clique for click exclusion. Is there a quick fix for this? Interestingly, Clique does find one frame: oUF_PartyUnitButton1.

Regards,

Misterdrogo

Postscript: I used the following script while hovering over my unitframe, it should give the frame name, but it doesn't output anything:

/script ChatFrame1:AddMessage("You are hovering over frame: " .. GetMouseFocus():GetName())

That is correct, my unit frames don't have a "global" name. Could be done easily though.

Take a look at one of my 3.0.2 dev shots
http://img1.abload.de/img/wowscrnsho...08_194036k.jpg

Still haven't decided how to make the layout for the d3orbs.

Well, gosh: you're right. All I did was add the name "oUF_Player" as a 2nd argument to the oUF:Spawn() call for the frame I wanted to expose to Clique. Problem fixed.
