Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

Compliments to the author for this add-on, its great for cleaning up my minimap!

Theres a few problems I have with it when I use it though.

While running Minimap Button Frame v2.4

- It does not collect Enchantrix minimap button from the Auctioneer add-on.
- When I lock the MBF bar it completely disappears, regardless of how I tell it to react when locked.

@ passionfly: Yeah I know there seems to be some sort of bug in atlas from time to time. I don't have anything in MBF that would let you hide specific addon's buttons. The only thing I can think is to try and ask on the atlas page on curse. The author seems to respond pretty well to questions and stuff there. Or even try the atlas forums at http://atlasmod.com/phpBB3/

I guess my answer would be pretty much the same for the other addons. Just ask on their pages or what not.

@passionfly: To address your last question first. There should be settings in each of the addons settings. Or if it's a Broker2FuBar thing then it would be in that ones settings.

Minimap Icons are the little icons that MBF sometimes captures by accident. Examples of these are the gatherer nodes that are displayed on the minimap. You know little things that you want on the map and not gathered up. The little icons HandyNotes puts on the minimap are another example. These can be handled pretty generically with a partial name, because things like gatherer just give them a name then add a number and such behind it.

ButtonOverride is for those minimap buttons that are named similarly to known minimap icons. Like the peggled minimap button. It's called, PeggledMinimapIcon. Since minimapicon is used by many addons to name things that should be on the minimap. By default MBF wouldn't grab it. So you put the exact name of the button that refuses to gather either automatically or manually into this and MBF will be nice and allow it to be gathered. But note that you may still have to do a manual add to the button after putting it into here. This just tells mbf if it sees a button with this name that it's okay to grab it.

Wow. Kinda long winded. Sorry about that. Hope that clears up any confusion about the two new options. But hopefully they will make it easier to get mbf to grab something or ignore stuff without me having to release a new version.
ok that makes it easier to understand thank you.

The problem with broker2fubar or any mods out there is that when u click for the minimap icon to go away (like Atlas) it wont! Try it with Atlas, go into its options and select to remove the minimap icon and sure enough after a reloadui or relog its back! I was wondering if there is some way in the lua file to make these annoying mods stop putting icons in the MBF permenantly?

SpamSentry or BG sounds have no broker2fubar setting that will make it behave. Atlas does have a broker2fubar but it seems it control TWO minimap icons, one for atlas and one that broker2fubar generates. This clutters the MBF since my Fubar already has the ability to have atlas icon there but I dont need it to be on MBF as well (this is just an example). There are like 10 icons that wont go away off the MBF, is there a way to make the exceptions options pane make them not show up? Perhaps the lua file setting?

Question about this new exceptions pane

Can someone tell me what the 2 categories mean in the new exceptions pane?

For the minimap icons part you can add new icons or remove them from the mod right?

The buttons override? what does this do exactly?

My problem is I cant get Atlas minimap icon to just GO AWAY ever and forever. I hate this icon and I want to terminate it forever but it wont >.< How can I do this? I think its called AtlasButtonFrame or AtlasButton, I'm not sure which from the AtlasButton.lua file. I just want it to be gone like the pest it is.

Same goes for Spamsentry, I dont need it, I dont want it just make it go away. These types of mods just create minimap herpes all over the place. Anyone know which box in the exceptions part of the options to add and what to add here?

Thank you so much for creating a mod that handles minimap herpes syndrome. =)

For anyone else that needs to manually add the button or for future updates, the button name is "LinksList_ToggleButton" without quotes ofcourse. I had to open the lua file to find the button name, so I figured I'd save the next guy any trouble

Thank-you.

Edit: Clarity.
You can change the color of the entire MBF frame and turn on or off the border currently. I could add the ability to change the color of the MBF Border, but I don't have any plans to add the ability to change the color of the button frames.

Besides that though, is there a way to hide the little header frame? I basically want to put the frame right under my minimap but having that frame there kind of messes it up

Thanks
