SCT - Damage  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.1
by: Grayhoof [More]

What is it? - A mod that adds your damage to SCT. It provides a way for you to see your damage in a static location. This can be useful against large mobs like those in MC, Bosses, etc...Can use SCT animations or its on built in style.

What can it do?

- Your Melee, Spell, Skill, Periodic, and Pet Damage
- Spell Damage/Resists and Damage Type (by color)
- Target and Spell ID's
- All "Miss" events (dodge, block, immune, etc...)
- Custom Colors for all text events and crits.
- Ability to show only target damage
- Four Fonts to choose from
- Can disable built in WoW damage
- Sliders for text size, fade speed, and on screen placement (with custom editbox)
- Localized to work in almost all WoW clients.
How do I use it? - First you must have SCT installed already. Next, unzip SCTD it into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Now just run WoW and once logged in, type /sctdmenu to get the options screen or you can click the SCTD button on the SCT options menu.

FAQ
How do I remove the damage the scrolls above my targets head? - WoW itself does this. You can turn it off by checking the the "Disable WoW Damage" option, or by going to the Advanced Options under Interface options.

My Wow Damage won't turn back on, even after I turn off SCTD! - You need to turn this back on manually in WoW. Go to Advanced Options under Interface options and you will see a checkbox to enable damage. Also, it is highly recommended you don't use the "Enable Wow Damage in PvP" option if you are on a PvP server.

My peridoic damage is not showing up in the combat log or on the screen! How do I fix it? - You have turned off periodic damage on the Advanced Options under Interface options. Make sure the "Periodic Damage" check box is checked, even if you have Damage unchecked.

I don't like friendly nameplates on. How do I make my heals appear over who I heal? - Friendly nameplates have to be on in order to show your heals. SCT will turn them on if you turn on the option, but you must manually turn them off if you don't like it (see Target keybindings).

SCTD damage is ontop of my SCT messages, how do I fix this? - I highly suggest you move SCT's message using the sliders on the SCT option menu. You can also move SCTD using the sliders on its menu. Consider placing it over you target bar.

How do I reset SCTD or load another users settings? - SCTD is tied directly to SCT. You can reset SCTD using SCT's reset button or typing /sctreset. You can load another users SCTD settings by loading them from the SCT option menu.

How do I change the fonts? - You can select from four fonts on the options page.

I don't like enemy nameplates on. How do I make my damage appear over who I hit? - Enemy nameplates have to be on in order to show your hit over the enemy heads. SCT will turn them on if you turn on the option, but you must manually turn them off if you don't like it (see Target keybindings).

Is there a way to filter out all misses, parries, blocks etc? Basically, I just want to see damage done.

I have the problem that SCTD does not display my periodic damage. Currently playing shadow priest. What I get displayed is: Mindblast, Shadow Word: Death, wand and melee damage. What I don't get displayed is Shadow Word: Pain, Vampiric Touch, Mindflay. I am using a german client.

Any way to correct this? I have the latest versions of SCT and SCTD, also tried the newest from files.wowace.com with the same result.

Thanks

EDIT: It is a problem with SWStats, not SCTD. Solved.

why can't I get my water elemental talent pet's damage to show? Is there a special option for that other than "Show Pet's Damage" ??

Some details

SCTD does not display damage caused by paladin's retribution aura and druid's thorns buff. Other than that seems to work fine. It's a great mod I can't do without.

sctd

For some reason, every time I try to install sctd, when I log in it tells me it won't work without sct 5.6, which I am currently using.

The

Copy/Paste of my post from the SCT main page's comments:
Both SCT and SCTD are working correctly but some of us hadn't updated in a little while and so our SavedVariables file had the old Version saved within the file (which is where SCTD was looking to get the version number), causing SCTD to tell us that SCT was out of date even though we just installed the newest version.

I merely took the SCT.lua file out of my SavedVariables folder and logged back into the game with just SCT loaded so that I was sure to get just SCT in the SavedVariables file (probably would've worked loading both at once but I was testing based on a report that disabling SCTD and logging in would fix the problem) then quit out of the game and loaded it back up with SCTD enabled.

This wipes out all your configuration settings for SCT, which may be a good idea since some of us haven't updated since Lite Mode was removed, but an alternative method may be to just open your existing SCT SavedVariables file and change the version number after installing both updated mods.

Now that Blizzard has implemented a feature to put heals over the target's head, can this be incorporated into SCTD? I would like to show my outgoing heals in the SCTD frame.

Thanks for your work on this addon!

This never shows up on my sctd. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong ? If it is'nt implemented, is there chance it will be in the future ? Thanks for a great mod.

Weird messages in chat

Somehow SCTD gives some weird messages in the chat windows when enabled.
I get messages like this when I get hit:
"SCTD -Ace2-: hit 133 25"

For every single hit I take. Pretty annoying. Any fix for that?

I get this too from the newest version, except "hit 113" instead of "133" it seems to happen whenever relfected damage occurs, like from Fire Shield, Thorns or Ret Aura. The "25" is the damage reflected.

A fix or temporary fix would be cool, thanks ;D

Please don't post about SVN changes here. Until there is a official release, post on the Ace forums.

That debug message is already fixed on the SVN.

custom SCTD event

I am a ret pally and my number 1 job in raids is to keep seals up with crusader strike. I am trying to figure out a way to create a custom event to show all of my cursader strike misses, parries, dodges bolded like a crit in magenta.

I was thinking it would look something like this:

[10] = {name="CS Hit! (*2)", argcount=2, search="Your crusader strike hits (.+) for (%d+)", r=256/256, g=0/256, b=256/256}, iscrit=1,
[11] = {name="CS Crit! (*2)", argcount=2, search="Your crusader strike crits (.+) for (%d+)", r=256/256, g=0/256, b=256/256}, iscrit=1,
[12] = {name="CS Miss!", argcount=1, search="Your crusader strike misses (.+)", r=256/256, g=0/256, b=256/256}, iscrit=1,
[13] = {name="CS Dodged!", argcount=1, search="Your crusader strike is dodged by (.+)", r=256/256, g=0/256, b=256/256}, iscrit=1,
[14] = {name="CS Parried!", argcount=1, search="Your crusader strike is parried by (.+)", r=256/256, g=0/256, b=256/256}, iscrit=1,

does that look right or am I way off? Thanks for any help
