    Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

    Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.


    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

    If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

    This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua



    About the add-on:

    The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

    About the author:

    I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

    I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

    Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

    2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

    IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
    This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

    There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
    Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

    - DataStore_Crafts: The module is now shared between all versions of the game.
    - This concludes the conversion of all DataStore modules to make them compatible with all versions.

    - DataStore_Reputations: The module is now shared between all versions of the game.
    - DataStore_Containers: Fixed COMMON_NUM_BAG_SLOTS to be NUM_BAG_SLOTS + 1 for retail, and NUM_BAG_SLOTS for non-retail, instead of the opposite.

    - Fixed an issue where sorting the bags while the merchant frame is opened would trigger a slow down (Thanks Belazor !)
    - DataStore_Containers: Removed an invalid test when closing a bank frame.

    In 4.0.004, you can mouse over the class icons and select which alt you want to display. In the current implementation, you can only list alts from the same realm.

    You can only display 10 alts at the same time (and that won't change), but you can select from more than 10 if you're using symlinks. In the future, you'll also be able to compare alts from different realms, etc..

    Is it possible to change this to 10? There does seem to be enough space.

    This is a bug (i had nearly the same).
    Like Thaoky said: go to your wtf-folder, delete the altoholic.lua and start the game again.

    Eh. I think my UI may be borked. But asking anyway: I can only show 5.

    I have 8 toons on this realm, same faction. But the achieves UI only shows 5 columns. So yes, I can change which toon to show, but I can only show 5 at a time, and there's a huge empty space on the right side, which I was hoping can be turned on to show the rest.



    BTW, the achieves pane gives a LUA error now (after 4.0.3a), but I'm sure you know already.

    How do I turn off the feature where it checks my mail? I don't like how it grays out the new mails. I know there is a way to disable this but I am unsure.

    Hi,

    I keep getting a couple of errors when I log in naming Altoholic. It is annoying and I can't figure out why it keeps happening. Posting it here in the hope that some of you can help me out.

    These are the messages: (I posted a full log of the first one)
    1) AceLocale-3.0: Altoholic: Missing entry for 'Enter an account name that will be used for |cFF00FF00display|r purposes only.'
    2) AceLocale-3.0: Altoholic: Missing entry for 'This name can be anything you like, it does |cFF00FF00NOT|r have to be the real account name.
    3) AceLocale-3.0: Altoholic: Missing entry for '|cFFFFFFFFWhen |cFF00FF00enabled|cFFFFFFFF, this option will allow other Altoholic users
    to update their guild bank information with yours automatically.

    etc. It goes on on like this. I get 13 messages in total. If needed I can post them all but I hope this is information enough. I think I might be missing a required add-on but I figure that the Altoholic download contains everything I need. All 13 error dissapear if I turn of Altoholic.
