Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Thanks for your tip regarding cooldown pies and aura timers on focus. That does work indeed.

My problem now: I increased the size of pets buff icons and focus aura timer. Afterwards I wanted to increase the font size too (from 1 to 2). Result: The numbers (of a stacking buff, still doing that Kaltarra dragon quest) were completely gone. On the Aura timer it looks as if they are somewhereto the left and right of it. I changed back to one and they stayed gone ... a bug? or did I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your work and support.

Edit: I copied stuf.lua from my backup and the numbers are back ... but still it should be possible to change font size.

Making text capitalized with pattern tags.

Is there a way to capitalize text with a pattern tag? I didn't see anything in the pattern tag help, and trying different modifiers didn't work. Thanks.

It's possible but not in StufRaid. StufRaid is optimized for raid only, so no use for just in party.

Damage Font

I was wondering if Stuf controls the floating damage text on mobs and what not, and if so, how to change that text.

I downloaded a UI that uses Stuf and Im a bit new to it, it had a different font for the text I mentioned and I looked through all the addons. The only one I can think of it being is Stuf, but I have 0 clue where to find the option to change it x_o

totalpackage,

First off, Love the Stuf Unit Frames, they are amazing.

My question is regarding whether or not it is possible to have your party display in the raid frames when joining a 5 man dungeon versus having them seperate.

There are options to show cooldown pie and/or timer text on buffs and debuffs. The cooldown pie also have support for OmniCC. Additionally, if the buff you cast is really flagged as yours, you can probably put focus on your vehicle and see the timer bars there. If that buff you mention works the same as the drake healing in Malygos, it should be fine.

After a long time I did that Wyrmrest-rep-quest in Kaltarra today and I had the following problem:

In Blizz standard ui you see the buff you cast on yourself (your character portrait turns into the dragon and your character becomes the pet) and you see after how many seconds you need to refresh it. With STUF you can see the buff, although very small, because the dragon is treated as your pet. Of course you could increase the size of the dragon pets buff display although that would probably be annoying in most other cases.

But most important the timer is not shown and that's a problem. I had to disable STUF to do the quest. I know it's a general design decision to show vehicles as pets and not the other way round like Blizz does and I didn't stumble into any difficulties so far. But for this daily its a problem. Does anybody have a solution?

Is there a way to show the timer countdown for the buff with STUF? Some external buff bar showing it?

Hi,

I love your add-on, and have used it for quite a while now.
Today I made a complete fresh UI, and for some reason I can't get Stuf to show my druid-cat's energy-bar as yellow. I choosen 'Power type' but no dice. Can you give me a hint on what to do?

Best regards and thank you for your work again!

[edit] sorry - just needed to leave 'config-mode' and then turn into cat-form

Hm,maybe there is a way to change frame level for portrait and class icon depending on the target?Place them on one another and when the target is player it's level will be more, when the target is npc then it's level will be more.
...Really want to show class for pc and race\faction or portrait for npc ;(

Test for yourself: /run print(UnitIsTapped("target") and "TAPPED" or "Not TAPPED")

Would be nice if you added an option on changing class icon for npcs on race\faction or something like that.Or is there anyway to hide class icon if target is npc?
Nope and no. Just disable it.
