Ever wish you could jot down important notes about an item somewhere handy? Well what better place than on the item! Engravings allows you to attach any text you want to an item's tooltip.

Engravings now includes a comprehensive listing of boss drops, PvP gear, and token rewards. More data is planned.

To add a note to an item: /engrave [item link] This is a handy item

To erase a note: /engrave [item link]

I found this addon a few weeks ago and it used to say in the tooltip what set my gear was in on mouseover. I have 2 equipsets made with the BliizzEquipManager and when I moused over stuff in my bags would say Part of set "Frost" or Part of set "Heal". It doesn't do this anymore. It was useful for me not to accidentally sell or DE something that was part of another set for my other spec. I hope this ability is returned or fixed. Thank you for a great addon. __________________

I'm still using TooltipsComplete from the now-defunct Cosmos package, but have been looking around for a replacement since one of these days there will be a WoW patch that will break it enough that I won't be able to fix it. The main thing I use TooltipsComplete to do is to create small notes for the tooltips of NPCs, players, and other targetable game objects. Might it be possible to add that feature to Engravings?

You can create your own notes in Engravings already. Is that what you're wanting, to add your own notes to the tooltips?

Engravings are stored in the file:
[Your WoW folder]\WTF\Account\[Your account name]\SavedVariables\Engravings.lua

I think it also contains your settings of what to show on the tooltip.

About the WowHead ratings, I'm suspecting that the data-miner does not take (all?) stats of '<Random enchantment>' items into account. For example, for item [Soul-Sealed Belt of the Beast] it will show a lower score than many items with inferior stats.

Check this screenshot:

Frost tank score 60% lower with more armor, more stamina and more agility?

Temp Fix For Now: Go into addonloader and find Engravings in the drop down list and remove X-LoadOn-Always: delayed it will remove the start up error, but at same time it will always load up now, not on a delayed load anymore.......

I think it would be really nice to have it stand out with a different color than the rest of the info - as an option. Do you think that would be possible? or is it possible right now? Thanks for all your hard work and commitment to the wow community. Much appreciated!
