You may want to look into getting Curse to fix that, as a lot of people will think they're updating when they're in fact out-of-dating.
I used to have DagAssist on both wowinterface and curse. I hate the curse website with a passion though, so when I came back to WoW and started updating the addon again I ignored curse. I can't even find DagAssist on curse anymore. I'll see what I can do.

Edit: I found it! I'll update it on Curse to prevent this problem in the future, thanks for the heads-up

Aha...It seems I'm using the version of DagAssist up on Curse, which is version 2.06. I'll see if I can find version 4.02 and give that a try instead.

EDIT: That was indeed the problem. If you're using the Curse updater, the version of DA downloaded from this site shows up as version 1.7, and it thinks that the version on Curse is more up to date at version 2.06.

You may want to look into getting Curse to fix that, as a lot of people will think they're updating when they're in fact out-of-dating. Thanks again for getting me pointed in the right direction!

Thanks for getting back to me. The main problem is that there's nothing at all in the dropdown menu when I click it. It's an empty list, there is no config option there (nor header, nor close). I can send you a screenshot if it would help diagnose the problem?

I also thought maybe it was the Broker addon that was messing things up, so I disabled it...but then no DA button appeared on the minimap. Then I thought, "OK, maybe it's my minimap addon hiding the button?" and disabled that addon...but no DA button appeared on the generic Blizzard minimap either.

So I'm kind of stumped...not sure what could be going on.

I am having the exact same issues. It would be nice if it would come along with some LUA errors but nope. Just a little rectangular, blank, menu.

Is there a chat command that opens the config, I wonder? If not, could there be one?

Click on the config option and a little config panel will open up. Enter a heading for your first category into the edit box and hit enter.

From there, you will need to drag your items/spells/macros from your spellbook or the macros tab to the config panel.

For instance: I created a category called Professions. I then dragged my leatherworking, basic campfire, cooking, first aid, and fishing to this category.

If you need to create another category, for instance mage portals, you rinse and repeat. Create the category by entering a name for it into the edit box and hit enter.

If you want to add or remove from a category already created you can do so by choosing the category in the dropdown box on the config panel. To remove a category completely, choose it from the drop down and hit the del button next to the dropdown menu.

I hope that's clear. I'm not particularly good at giving instructions.

In the configuration menu, in the edit box type in a category name... like Portals for example and hit enter. then drag your portals into the empty list for that category. For your professions you could then create another category the same way.
Thanks for answering that for me! One of my own coworkers made the same comment, that creating categories is confusing. I'll work on making it clearer

Dagos, I have to say, I'm sooo glad that you're updating this again. It was my very first addon, about two years ago, and I just can't be without it. I like the configuration options.

Some requests for the next version, if I may. I miss being able to see the cooldown on my hearthstone and ring of the kirin tor, so if that could be added back in, fantastic.

My other request is for native LDB support. I realise that funkjedi created an addon to add support, but it would be nice to have it natively, with the option in the configuration to chose to show the minimap button.

In anycase I'm loving this addon so very much right now. Thank you.

- at the moment there's no way to sort the categories. As I went along to create them, I found that I suddenly thought of one that I want higher up the list for easier access - with no sorting option available, I had to delete all other categories in order to put this category on top. Can it be made so that categories, once made, can be moved up/down the list for priority?

- I'm quite forgetful, and being presented with an empty list makes me fidgety as I keep wondering if I didn't forget anything. I browsed my entire spellbook per character, but can't prevent the nagging feeling that there's things I forgot to put in the lists of my various characters. Do you think it's possible to put in all the important stuff by default, just as you did with the previous version? I personally would be a bit more reassured when I have an existing list I can just tweak.

That last point also made me wonder what the 'default' category is used for. It's empty and doesn't seem to have any function.

Oh, and I'm still hoping for a way to close the list by hitting esc. *grins*
Yay feedback! I like both ideas, in fact I already had plans to prepopulate like the old version did. I was rushing to get this version out as I thought 4.0.1 was going to land this week. The default category can be deleted if you're not using it. I had to provide some category to start with, so I just named it default. I have my professions and hearthstone in it.
