Trapper  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.0
by: BDelacroix [More]

This is a simple addon to put all your hunter traps on their own frame. It saves me room on my action button bars.

I originally wanted it to be one button in which the trap it activated could be changed using the mouse wheel. I ran into several problems with that. Namely you can't changed hide/show states in combat (one method I tried). You can't programmatically change the button state while in combat.

So, for now, i have it this 5 button way.

No setup required. It will determine what traps you currently have on your hunter and make a button for them. You can drag it around with a right click and drag on the trap frame anywhere you want it.

v0.9b: Nothing changed. The old file on the site became corrupted.

v0.91: Fixed this so it really does enumerate lower level traps. I was guilty of premature optimization. Hey, it happens.

v0.95: Now with tooltips.

v0.98:
*Removed the invisible overhang from the background frame (it would cover buttons and intercept mouse clicks)
*Fixed a potential button shrinkage problem

2.0:
*Changed the version number to reflect the wow version it works with. (not the same as the TOC number)
*New Blizzard Interface Options panel.
*Scaling option.

3.0:

*Changed TOC. It was already ready to work with 3.0

3.1:

*Nothing needed changing. Checked the "works with 3.1" box.

3.2:

Changed only the .toc ##interface number.

3.3:

Changed .toc so it won't be out of date.

4.0:

Works with 4.0.1 release. Due to undocumented changes I can no longer inherit ActionButtonTemplate. That means the buttons will not highlight nor change appearance when pressed. I am still trying to figure out how to change the spell attribute to make them work with the trap launcher. So right now they only drop traps.

Any chance you can start adding in some of the features that ZhunterMod has? He has left the game, and his addon saved my bars a ton of space.

I am not familiar with zhuntermod but if I see something I like sure.

BTW- still can't seem to get curse to identify my uploaded files. I may have to delete the project there and try again. That's not a problem for wowinterface, though.

You can find the addon right here on wowinterface. Here is a direct link http://www.wowinterface.com/download...HunterMod.html

You can see on the main page there what the author was doing. The fly out buttons are a life saver. I mainly use the Aspect bar, Pet Bar, and of course trapping bar.

Curse and stuff

I have started putting my addons on curse.

Now that the NDA is lifted I can say I have plans to put the trap launcher on this addon to go with the release of the expansion.

Oh good.

This mod has always fantastic in the past. Uses 0 CPU time unlike a lot of bar-type mods and has always functioned well. But in WoW 4.0.1 live and the addition of the Trap Launcher, the usefulness of Trapper has unfortunately dropped to zero.

You have to bring out the Blizzard icons for traps (or use a macro) in order to use them with the Trap Launcher. So what's the point of enabling/taking up screen space with a mod that duplicates the trap functionality of those buttons, yet can't use the Launcher?

So very much look forward to Trapper being able to handle the Trap Launcher functionality soon. Sorry you weren't able to add it in time for the Trapper v4.0 release.
