Version: 5.7.138
by: Mikord, Resike

Announcements:

  • Version 5.7.134 is updated to work with Warlord of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 and fixes the font preview issues.
  • If you are having issues with the fonts "resetting" on initial game load, update to Version 5.7.137.
  • Version 5.7.138 corrects issues with several triggers like Kill Shot and Hammer of Wrath.

Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.

Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.
  • Customize each individual event's color, font style, font size, font outline, opacity, output message, enabled state, and scroll area.
  • Set "Master Font" settings that will be inherited by all of the scroll areas and the events in them unless they are overridden at the scroll area or event level.
  • Merge AoE data into one event with cumulative damage/healing done with number of normal and crits specified.
  • Show overhealing amounts against yourself or party/raid members.
  • Color unit names according to their class (including CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS support).
  • Color damage amounts according to damage type.
  • Show partial effects (resists, absorbs, vulnerabilities, etc) colored according to type.
  • Filter output information with a full suite of spam controls.
  • Load on demand options.
  • For mod developers:
    • Output your own scrolling messages with the MikSBT.DisplayMessage function instead of having to create your own frame and animation code. You can also use your own font by first registering it with MSBT via the MikSBT.RegisterFont function.
    • Create custom animation styles.
    • See the included API.html file for reference information.

Spam throttle all combat text

Hi,

I've been using MSBT for a very long time now. It's by far the best SCT system out there.

I was wondering if there was a way to setup some type of filter to mass throttle all incoming/outgoing damage/heals based on time. Right now I can throttle it via an individual threshold or a HoT throttle time. This works well enough, but as a tank, I end up seeing a massive stream of heals from many different players flying across my incoming scroll area. I'd rather not set the display threshold too high since I do wanna see the smaller heals when things aren't as crazy as a boss fight.

I would love for the ability to group all incoming heals (regardless of who it came from or what skill it actually is) and show a single line of incoming every 2-3 seconds.

It's a lot to ask, but it never hurts to ask.

Keep up the great work!

I can see your point and I might add something like that in the future if enough users would find it useful. As you noted, the current throttling is based around individual skills, so it would take a non-trivial change to the throttling system to support.

That said, obviously allowing disparate skills to merge means the icons for the skill and the skill name itself would have to be ignored in those circumstances. You'd no longer be able to tell which spells are healing you, and based on your post it seems like you're saying this is fine because you really don't care. That's perfectly fair, but I'm curious if you don't really care what or who is healing you, what value does showing it all have at that point? Perhaps the answer to that question might allow for a better approach altogether.

Raid Debuff Alert

Looking to see if there is a way to create an alert that will trigger when a raid/party member gets a poison/disease debuff.

Looks like a I can do the following

Main Event
-----------
Aura Application

Event Conditions
----------------
Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - Raid Member
Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - Party Member
Aura Type - Is Equal To - Debuff

This gets me most of the way there but it triggers for all debuffs where I want it to trigger just for poison/disease debuffs.

There is another event condition called "Skill School" but its parameters are for stuff like Twilight, Shadow, Shadowflame, .etc. Not what I am looking for.

Anyone have any idea how to do this with

Graxus:

First, you only need to use Raid member as it encompasses party members as well. For the part of the specific dispel type (poison, etc), unfortunately that information is not reported with the combat log event. The closest you could get is looking for the Nature school since it is typically a poison.

I don't expect you'd find it too useful anyhow since there are many times where AoE effects afflict the entire raid and you would get mega spammed by 25 messages - one for each person being afflicted.

Hey Mik, I'm having a problem with MSBT and my HoTs. At one time, I recall being able to see my HoT ticks (buffered or not). However, now I cannot. It doesn't even show when I set buffered to 0. Any thoughts? I have the latest version .64.

I've been trying to figure this out for a bit now.

The only heals that do show for me are direct heals (Lifeboom's "bloom", nourish, regrowth initial heal, life seed and swiftmend). None of the HoT ticks show.

Reflux

Dear Mik

Could you please add support for this AddOn (Reflux)? MSBT is one of the very few of my AddOns that doesn't, and it's kind of a pain :I

Guice:

There is an option on the Spam Control tab named "Hide Full HoT Overheals". Unchecking that option will show you all HoTs regardless of whether or not their effective heal amount is zero.

Sibertron, Ducimus, Pateintzero:

Do you receive any error messages? Does it still happen with all other addons disabled? Does your combat log also stop reporting?

I am not experiencing an issues and it works correctly for me in BGs, so without further information it's hard for me to say what your issue may be.

Taraus:

I'll look into it, but I believe Reflux is based off of ace profiles and uses emulation for others. I don't believe it has a way to program for it to add custom hooks. MSBT is highly optimized including the way profiles are handled, so changing the profile out from under it without making the appropriate calls as reflux does won't work. An easy solution is to make a second profile within MSBT and add the following to your macro that switches profiles:

/run MikSBT.Profiles.SelectProfile("Whichever_Profile_Name_You_Want")

Rune Strike Problem

Hey, got a small problem with msbt. The trigger for Rune Strike keeps firing on every dodge / parry even though i haven't used the initial proc. This becomes very spamy when you tank adds and dodge / parry multiple times per second.
I wasn't able to add an exception to check if Rune Strike is already usable (that's when i don't need to see a new proc).

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Rune Strike Problem

asnast:

I'd suggest adding a trigger recently fired exception. That will prevent it from firing within X number of seconds of the previous one.

Hi there, great addon and longtime fan. Is there any chance you could add support for Resto Druid 4T9, which grants Rejuv ticks the ability to crit? At present the addon shows (and sums) normal ticks as it always did, but ticks which crit are ignored completely.

Thanks for your time,

Joanna

Edit - assuming it helps, here's an example from the Combat Log :

9/17 10:02:12.091 SPELL_PERIODIC_HEAL,0x06000000015EA10E,"Froghurt",0x511,0x06000000015EA10E,"Froghurt",0x511 ,48441,"Rejuvenation",0x8,2207,2207,0,nil
9/17 10:02:22.152 SPELL_PERIODIC_HEAL,0x06000000015EA10E,"Froghurt",0x511,0x06000000015EA10E,"Froghurt",0x511 ,48441,"Rejuvenation",0x8,3361,3361,0,1

Both are 100% overheal, the first is a normal tick, the second is a crit tick.

Thanks for your efforts Mik, Great addon!

I consistently have an issue, on one character only, of Skill icons periodically appearing, very briefly, in random locations outside of their normal scroll area. This would be for outgoing spells/skills. They just appear as a flicker then are gone, but it is a bit of a distraction.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this, and how to fix it?

Thanks
Dit
