Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Classcolors

Is there a known issue with ClassColors atm?

Whenever I enable the addon ClassColors, Stuf is disabled in-game. Disabling ClassColors, and everything(except the colors) is fine again.

Would it be possible some day to be able to differentiate between vehicle/possess and class pets? Does it exist and I just didn't stumble across it?

I NEED to show class pets, but my action bar addon separates class pets from vehicles and possessions (which makes sense to me). I don't know how to get the Stuf pet frame to hide when I'm in a vehicle or being possessed, but appear for anything that qualifies as a controllable pet, and this forces me to create an extra action bar to show vehicles and possessions with the Stuf pet bar (so it doesn't look weird) when I only need it once.

Hope I'm making sense!

AFK not working?

I'm so glad Stuf has been updated! Thank you!

All seems to be working great for me with this last version 5.0.002, but for one thing. I can't seem to get AFK to work properly in Text Pattern ( as in [afk] [name] ). As soon as I 'Okay' it, AFK shows up before my name, and just stays there whether I'm really AFK or not. No way to get it off unless I take it out of the Text Pattern. This applies to any unit I've tried it on (Player, Target, Focus, Party, etc).

I've reloaded ui after I made the changes. I've tried it alone in seperate Text numbers. I've turned Display Lua Errors on but nothing came up. I've also disabled all addons other than Stuf and still had the same problem.

I'm not sure what the problem could be. I checked Pattern Tag Help and it seems like [afk] is the one to use. But perhaps I just got it formatted wrong? I'm not knowledgeable in LUA so I have not written any codes that could have broken it. Any suggestions would be a great help!

* If I remember correctly, WoW has an option to always show mouseover text.
* I have very little control on 3D models. Those are usually set in stone bugs by WoW.
* Stuf only deals with unit frames.
* Play with frame levels on other elements.
* Stuf does not touch talents. Try disabling all mods except Stuf to see if it still gets blamed.
* Special power bars are as-is from the default interface. I've learned my lesson from making Stuf's own deathknight bars: people are quite picky on how these are displayed and people keeps comparing them to dedicated mods. In short, use dedicated mods.
* Stuf is very sensitive to combat locks. So, don't be in combat while trying to configure Stuf.
* Disabling mouse for special power bars is a good idea. I'll consider it for the next release.
* I'll look into classcolors.
* Am confused about possess and pet frames. They share the same, and Stuf does have a way to indicate vehicles.
* "afk" is a condition tag. You're using it as if it was an info tag.

Any thoughts on needing to enter Interface > Raid Frames and "Okay" out before stuf frames will appear after joining a party or a raid?

Pattern tag and feature suggestions

Hey there-

Many thanks for this amazing UF addon! I've been looking for something light but still highly configurable and this addon is spot on!

That being said, I have a few questions:

- Besides the pattern tag help window, is there anything more extensive available somewhere? I'm trying to have the hp % appear in red if <20 and white otherwise, with the "%" symbol matching the same color, but I can't manage to do it and using a custom lua function is not an option as I don't know anything about lua (unless I can copy/paste an existing one). Oh, and I want this to appear only in combat. So far I'm using:
Code:
[solid_if_combat:perhp][solid_if_combat:%]
- I might be blind (if so, apologize ) but I haven't found the way to differentiate the color of the cast bar whether it's breakable or not (i.e. green bar if it's possible to CS, red if not). If not possible, I guess I'll have to use Quartz which would be a bummer.

- The other option I've been looking for is when I want to copy a unit frame but want to have it reversed. For instance, I create my Player frame, and then use it for the Target frame. If I want the latter to be symmetric, I have to switch everything manually. Same, I might just be blind.

Thanks in advance for your help, really amazing stuff!

* Check out the hp## (ie. hp20) and mp## condition tags.
* An "(X)" is suppose to show before the spell name if cannot interrupt.
* No option for reverse for many reasons.

* No highlighting for current target. A custom text indicator may be useful.
* Previous update should have fixed joining raid issues.

Will have an update soon.

A hundred thanks!

This is one of my three all-time favorite addons. Thank you so much for doing this amazing work. While I love its versatility and low memory profile, my single favorite feature is the amazing integrated aura timers. Thanks again for updating this wonderful addon in time for the next xpac!

Thanks for your reply!

I tried using hp20 but it didn't work. I guess it's because I didn't use the correct tags but like I said, I don't know anything about this. Hence my question on the possibility to have a more exhaustive pattern tag guide. If it exists. If not, maybe you can help me with the correct tag I should use?

Thanks for the answer on the cast bar. I did see an "X" but didn't realize it was for that purpose. My bad. Great news then

Too bad for the "reverse" option. I guess I'll just do that manually. Not the end of the world anyway!

Is it a border for each individual frame and one for the whole unit frame? Do you have a screenshot?

Heyas, I need some help. How do I stop the new update from overwriting my old saved variables? Is that possible, or will I need to recreate all my toons UF from scratch? My thanks, in advance, for any/all help~

Nvm, it's not doing that, it's not recognizing CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS, (or Phanx's class colors addon). If I have class colors enabled, Stuf will no work. I'll figure something out, apologies for the bother~
