Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

I've been getting the "interface action failed because of an addon" message, so I turned on taint logging and discovered MBF is causing taint. Here's a link to my taint log:

Alright. While I don't quite understand all of that I think at least some of it can be fixed by pausing the active scanning during combat. Should be a relatively easy fix. It will be included in version 1.8.

Though it also looks as if there is some sort of conflict going on between, Geist, DagAssist, and MBF. I'll look in to that as well.

Hey. I'm trying to mimic fubar with MBF and wanted to ask if there's a way to hide the minimap button borders (I have the Minimap-TrackingBorder.blp texture in Interface\Minimap for square minimap buttons). For my pMinimap I have both MiniMapTrackingBorder:Hide() and MiniMapTrackingBackground:Hide() set up in the lua and thus have a tracking icon that doesn't have the border or the circle background but I don't know where you could add those in MBF.lua or even if those really are correct for handling other minimap buttons besides tracking button. (I could just add empty .blp but don't know how to do that lol :P)

What I has with FuBar and would like to achieve with MBF as far as appearance goes:

What I has with MBF:

Removing the borders is one of the things I have had planned for version 2 of MBF.

Off the top of my head I'd probably say that wouldn't work for most addon minimap buttons. I know for a fact that it wouldn't work with the MBF minimap button.

To add the ability to MBF to do hide them you'd have to set up some new functions to strip the borders and such. And probably call the function whenever you added a button.

It also collects and hides EastWestPlus and SmartMinimapZoom, Neither of which has buttons, configuration, or console commands. Unfortunately these have worked through all iterations of WoW until this latest incarnation of MBF. I miss them terribly.

edit: I found an Ace replacement for SmartMinimapZoom. I would like to get EastWestPlus back. No replcement for it.

I installed the new version of MBF and it didn't pick up Natur EnemyCastBar 8.7.5. The button is sitting right in the middle of the minimap and will not move

Thank you for a great mod and your time.

- Removed the gray no mail icon. (If there is enough demand I'll add it back.)
When I first installed MBF I was really annoyed with the gray icon, but as time has gone by, I've come to love it! Infact, I really do miss it not being there now
This is just one post to request an option for it to be added back :P

Apart from that, I love this addon truely, nice work

Oh, one more thing. I'm not sure if it's possible or not, but I use LinksList and that creates an entirely seperate button (I think) away from the MiniMap, though it looks like a MiniMap button. Would it be possible to capture that button and place it into MBF?

1. I'll install chinchilla and work out the issues. Very easy fix. - Fixed

2. I'll install EastWestPlus and fix it as well. Should be easy. - Fixed

3. Same with SmartMinimapZoom. Just because it should work anyways. - Fixed

4 Natur EnemyCastBar 8.7.5 - Shouldn't be an issue. Will fix it. - Haven't found and issue with it yet. I'll keep messing with it.

5. LinksList - I'll check it out - No issue just add like you would any manual add (put your cursor over it and type /mbf add)

6. The gray no mail icon. It's been bugging me it's gone too. I'm going to add it back in version 1.9 with the option to have it shown or not.

Everything but # 6 should be fixed in a day or so and be available in version 1.8a. I figured I'd have some issues after rewriting a lot of the main code.

Almost ready to put out 1.8a

HandyNotes

Say, could it be that MBF collects minimap symbols from HandyNotes now? They seem awfully huge since the last update of MBF, they wander around the screen, and if I change the sorting in MBF, they jump around...

Last HandyNotes update was a while back and I didn't notice anything then. The trouble started with the last MBF update, so I thought it might be the culprit.

Edit: I added "HandyNotesPin" in the same place of code where there was a "GatherMatePin", and that seems to fix it for me. No idea if this is the right way to do it, tho.

Yep that's the right place for it. I'll download HandyNotes and make sure that's the only think I need to watch for.

I still have strange, empty spots in the button frame. Places that look like an invisible button got cought. No more glitches like huge mail symbols wandering over my screen, tho, so I'm not complaining.

And you may want to download some HandyNotes modules as well. The addon all by itself does nothing, me thinks.

Sounds like you have something else thats acting up too.

But HandyNotes issues have been fixed. And I found the issue with EnemyCastBars 8.7.5 and it should also be fixed now.

One last test to run then I'll upload the version with all the fixes.

It will be 1.8a

It will also fix some issues with the GameTimeFrame.
