LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Hey clad, did the last data parse maybe miss some data or something? For example, the zidmap table in LightHeaded.lua:376 is missing the DK start zone "ScarletEnclave", and possibly others... it's making TourGuide bug out... and it looks like you purged your old versions so I can't roll back to test (you should at least keep the last one or two around damnit :P

Looks like because it's listing two end npcs, which is a bit odd. I'll look into it.

If you can't be arsed to give Blizzard 50 cents a day for the entertainment they created for you that cost probably upwards of $1 bil in design, development, hosting, and support, figure out how to do the damn quests yourself.

Answer for my question I've already found by myself (just copied earlier release), so you can't do nothing with players, who plays on private server. If they want - they can use this addon without your support :P
I can remove all of my archived versions. Yes, it bothers me because I have to provide support for people who use private servers and that wastes my time. They are using an old version of the client, and cannot provide me with the information I need.

I believe they are running a 3.x codebase without the wrath content, however I cannot confirm this. If he's not playing on a private server, he can come back and respond saying as such. Then I will investigate further. I've yet to have a single request that didn't come from someone playing on a private server, however.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong!

Don't know why I didn't think to do that, normally I have more intelligence than a stump. Must be something in the water.

Thanks.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but every time I scroll to the next page, change quests, or pick up a quest item, Lightheaded sends a series of messages to the chatlog, saying that it is storing/retrieving/updating the QID. Anyway to mute this? as it takes up quite a bit of space in the chatlog, making it difficult to keep up with conversations.

It sounds strange, but searching for "mytho" returns no results, but searching for "ytho" returns [Mythology of the Titans]. For some reason, the first letter breaks the search. I've tried a fresh install of Lightheaded and always have the same results. Maybe a bug involving string length?

Thanks!
Thanks for the specific test, I'll take a look at it and try to fix it.

I would ensure that the addon is installed correctly, including all sub-addons. It sounds like you're missing the data addon that maps quest names to quest ids, thus stopping the lookup from being successful. Do you have any of the sub-addons disabled on the addons screen, etc.?
