Description:

MSBT is designed to be an extremely lightweight, efficient, and highly configurable mod that makes it easier to see combat information by scrolling the information on the screen in separate, dynamically creatable scroll areas. It is a replacement for Blizzard's Floating Combat Text and Damage output.


Features:
  • Lightweight and efficient design.
  • Scroll incoming damage/heals, outgoing damage/heals, and notifications in separate configurable scroll areas on the playing field.
  • Display player and pet cooldown completion alerts.
  • Display loot alerts with a total of how many are now in inventory.
  • Add triggers that will allow you to show notifications based on a variety of conditions.
  • Assign a sound file to play for events/triggers.
  • Dynamically create new scroll areas and assign any event/trigger to them.
  • Customize the position, size, animation style, enabled state, font style, font size, font outline, and opacity for each of the scroll areas.

thanks. There they say:
Enter the name you want the sound to be called in game such as "My Custom Sound" without the quotes.
Enter "MyUberSound.mp3" without the quotes for the sound path.

now is working, dont know why i missed first time. And i think i saw somewhere we can use other path than the addon folder.. nevermind, now is ok sry my bad

but my sounds have low volume comparative with the default sounds, i gues i need to edit with windows sound recorder these .wav

Mikord, did a way to disable the [2 hits, 1 crit] text but keep the combined number ever make it into MSBT?

I remember last year people were asking and it wasn't possible but I'd love to just have my Mutilate say [8000] instead of 8000 [2 hits, 2 crits]. If I missed it in the options I apologize but I've been searching everywhere!

trying to create a custom trigger for only dark command misses. recipient unit is you or the target, in other words, who is receiving the miss?

edit: seems like it's the target. however, if i'm not targeting something and taunting via mouseover, and i get a miss, msbt doesn't react. any way for the trigger to double dip, or will i have to make a separate one? also, i dont see a "mouseover" option for the unit.

The addon seems to handle creature emotes well enough but would it be possible to add the possibility to see creature whispers too? As they don't even produce speech bubble I often don't notice them.. Of course creature says and creature yells would be nice too, but the whispers would be top priority..

Not without modifying the lua files, however that request is very near the top of my list of stuff to do. I just haven't had much time to work on new features for the past few months.

If you really want to get rid of it, you can modify the MSBTMain.lua file and comment the following line by placing two dashes in front of it:

You'd probably be better of removing the recipient unit condition and adding a source unit affiliation set to you. That way it will trigger any time your dark command misses regardless of which unit you are casting it on.

Good idea. I will keep it my mind, but I have a ton of stuff I'd like to get to first and my development time has been quite limited recently. I will likely get a bunch done over the Christmas holidays, but I might not be able to get to that for a while. I just want to set realistic expectations.

I've been trying different configs with msbt, and i have finally been able to get rid of the spell icons and spell names and gotten the scroll areas set up as i want.. however, the only thing i can't get rid of is after all the dmg my pet does.. it says pet.. any ideas? intended?

And somewhere in the process the healing done to my pet dissapeared and i can't get it back :<

You'll have to modify the output messages for the various pet events under the Events->Incoming/Outgoing Pet categories. As for the heals, you likely have the event disabled (same place as just mentioned) or you have hide full / full hot overheals selected and you're overhealing your pet.

Thanks, this totally solved my problems!

Unfortunatley i take that back, when i removed the text in front of the dmg, the dmg went white *_* i still wanted to be able to distinguish the pet dmg from my dmg with the colors but noo any ideas?

Envenom!!! - trigger at 4 combo points

I was wondering (after searching quite a bit and not finding it) if a trigger can be made when I have 4 combo points on a target?

Thanks for your great mod - I'm sure it can do this but it was easier to ask than spend 3 hours messing it up on my own.

Enable the built-in game damage via the Interface Options panel (Escape->Interface->Combat Text).

Then you can disable the outgoing scroll area in MSBT (or the individual outgoing events depending on exactly what you want to see).


Felthor:

By default, damage amounts are colored according to their type (physical = white, frost = blue, etc). You can disable each type via the General tab->Damage Colors dialog, but realize that affects all events.

That's isn't currently possible since there isn't a main trigger event for combo point changes defined.

Make sure the font(s) you have selected still exist. Automatic updaters tend to delete the entire folder when updating an AddOn and can and wipe out custom font files in the process.

I'll make a change to prevent the error and fall back on the default font as intended, but the above should fix your issue in the mean time.
