Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

It looks like the map and XP bar modules are missing from the lastest version. I tried the next older version of these and it seems to work ok if it helps anyone else until the problem is corrected. :-}

Re: default target for action bars ?

I play a healer class and I want to have an action bar whose spells always have target=mouseover as their default target, so I can just hit the keyboard shortcuts and move my mouse over a player's frame that needs some healing.
Oh man, consider this seconded. I miss this feature of TrinityBars SO MUCH, I would love to see it reappear in Bongos.

(That and right-click selfcast, the absence of which is making me consider bartender... )

Just fixed some bugs with keybinding directly from your spellbook. In spellBound.lua
change the following;

Line 8;

local name, subName = GetSpellName(SpellBook_GetSpellID(button:GetID()), SpellBookFrame.bookType)

Line 17;

local name, subName = GetSpellName(SpellBook_GetSpellID(self:GetID()), SpellBookFrame.bookType)

Once done, keybinding from your spellwork works great.

Hello,
would it be possible to make use of the stance and the pet bar only and leave everything else untouched? That is, I want to be able to modify those bars but I want the rest to be the default UI. That is really what I need and would be great if it was possible/implemented.
Thanks

Having the same problem - I've been using Bongos since last night, and I went into a Shadow Lab run today. A blue jewelcrafting recipe dropped, and I couldn't see the "need/greed" box to roll - I just saw everyone else rolling on it in the chat log.

Does it have something to do with the roll box being enabled? I had the roll box enabled in the Addons screen, but not showing ingame. I was able to be summoned fine.

If you're not around when an item is looted, you won't be able to loot it. That's not caused by Bongos.

I would look at addons that can move parts of the UI for that.

Thanks The fix is implemented in the 2.1 update.

I was around when it was looted - it was in the first room of the instance, and we were all present, but I didn't get the need/greed box. I'll try again with the roll thing enabled, and see what happens.

Edit: yeah, that's what it was. Never mind - all is working for me now.

Patch 2.1?

From what I've been able to tell, bar mods across the board are being broken in 2.1 in terms of stance changing functionality, so rogues/druids/warriors are being affected. Is this something that is fixable, or will we have to deal without? If it is in fact fixable, is it already fixed in Bongos? If not, will it be? Now, I apologize if this has already been covered in this thread, but 50 pages is a bit much to sort through. Help!

Trying to set up Bongos, in preparation for the patch tomorrow, and I'm running into a very frustrating issue. I have paging turned off on all bars, and I have stances turned on, using bars 7/8/9 (I play a warrior). I have Bar 1 set up as 2 rows of 16 buttons, Bar 2 as 1 row of 12, and Bar 3 as 1 column of 12. When I am in Defensive stance, the first 12 buttons of Bar 1 are the same as Bar 2 - if i modify them on Bar 1, they get changed on Bar 2. In Berserker stance, I get the same problem with Bar 3 - the first 12 buttons of Bar 1 seem to be shared. How can I get Bars 2 and 3 to be independent of Bar 1? I mean, this way, there's no point in even having them to begin with, they're just the same as buttons I already have.

The 2.1 release will be a little bit delayed today, but it will still be today.

Its discontinued, as is the experience bar. I'd rather someone else develop them than make a feeble attempt myself
