Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.

Usage

When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.

Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.

In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

I recently switched back to Recount because not being able to actually report the damage done to a specific mob on an encounter (e.g. the people who damaged the Life Sparks on the XT encounter and how much damage they each did) isn't something I can live without.

You can report damage done to a specific mob. To do this, switch to the Enemy damage taken mode, click the mob you are interested in, then shift-right-click the window and choose Report, and go from there.

In the next version I am adding a small button for opening the menu, as people often ask how to do this.

I realize this is probably an extremely dumb question, but how can I move the Skada frames? I think I've tried everything (frame locked, unlocked, left click various locations, mod: shift, mod: alt, mod:ctrl, etc.), but the dang thing won't move. Could it be another add-on that is causing a problem?

Fairly certain this is bugged at the moment. Have been unable to adjust the frame position as well, since the new frame is wider and off set in my UI.

Skada frames are moved by dragging (click and hold left mouse) on the title bar.

That doesn't work for me. I thought it might be a frame issue, so have re-sized every element of the window to see if I could grab a hold on anything that would let me drag it, but nothing doing.

I'm glad that it isn't just me.

I'm getting some horrible text outlining that started happening when I updated to the most recent release of Skada. Any idea what it is and how to get rid of it?

The outlining should only occur in the segment list for segments you have marked for keeping. A recent optimization changed the way it was handled, but I can't reproduct this. Any hints on when and how this happens for you?

Damage - optional damage output

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to shorten the length of information that appears in the damage display? Not sure if I can explain what I mean, but here goes..

The way it shows now:
1. .... 907.3k [1.7k, 100.0%]
2. ..... 602.0k [1.1k 60.0%]

With an option to choose shorter output
1. Hoga 907.3k
2. Grimdore 602.0k


Would it be possible to add an option to show it like that? Edit: The numbers aren't lining up exactly the way I typed them out in my post /sigh

It happens all the time, thats how the every piece of text (except the title bar) looks.

REQUEST: A way to stop and keep a segment and setup a simple keybind to do this.

For instance, yogg p1 > p2 > p3 I would like to have three separate segments.

Hey. Good addon, but when i wanted to disable title bar, all bars just jumped up above the background border ;(

Like this:



Can it be fixed? I played with background settings, no result...

Amazing addon, as has been said countless times before.. Just one thing though.. With the threat module, I have "shake screen" enabled, yet it only seems to work half the time I pull threat. Am I missing something?

I'll try it when im solo'ing mobs with my pet (im a lock), and the first two times, it shook for me when i pulled, then it stopped....

If you had nameplates on at any time before/or at the time the shake happened (without relogging/reloading interface) the shake doesn't work.
