Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Could we configure to make it druid-friendly

Excuse me,

Could it be possible to make the Stuf to be more druid-friendly?

As a druid healer, I have to keep track of the HoT duration.

with pitbull, I could borrow pitbull_lifebloombar's code to make

regrowthbar, rejuvenationbar, wildgrowthbar.

it would be nice if it could provide similiar functions

thank you

TP has said a few times that Stuf incoming heals is about all the healing support for Stuf/StufRaid that he is going to provide. The idea is to keep Stuf resource friendly, and adding a dynamic healing bar, not so friendly.

I'm pretty sure that that is the case....
For the portrait, Seerah, thanks for the debugging. You revealed that it's most likely an addon conflict. Anyone using override settings with AddonLoader or using Reflux? I have a feeling it's one of those.
I do not use either AddonLoader or Reflux. With Seerah, I logged in with only Stuf (and OptionlessHouse) enabled and still did not have a portrait.

Just found out Druid tree form (elemental) faces left while bear form (beast) faces right. So, I won't go deeper into portrait flipping logic. Anyway, mind sending me your saved variables for Stuf?

@ other recent comments/requests - Stuf is basically a customizable replacement to the default frames, not a replacement to other mods. I'm trying to avoid all the talent/spell specific features. There are several mods that do those in addition to what Stuf does.

Hi srcwiz,

I play a resto druid also and am loving Stuf and especially StufRaid for the customization and visualization options it provides resto druids. If I were you I'd really suggest taking advantage of Aura Timers on your target and focus frames. They do EXACTLY what you're looking for!

@Total
Speaking of this exact topic, I noticed today when configuring my UI for my resto druid that Aura Timers isn't available under the player tab? For this reason I still have to use Class Timer for just that one specific feature. Would it be possible to add Aura Timers to the player frame and the ability to choose which direction the timers grow? Up/down. EDIT: Feel free to call me a dunce if it's already there

It's only available for target/focus (mentioned in addon description). It's not meant for player. There's already those large icons and numerous buff mods. Moreover, if it's reasonable to have timer bars for player in Stuf, then pet and party should get it as well...leading to a cluttered mess.

Another option is take your own advice; target/focus yourself if you need to track those timers.

*crosses fingers* If it happens again, please take note on what you changed to cause it. I appreciate the kind words.

I make use of mouseover macro to heal because it is faster to react.
if I need to click to target on the different party member /raid members to see their HoT duration in order to decide which members need to reapply HoT or to swiftmend or wildgrowth, that would not be quite efficient

But I understand that authors should have the final say and the right to uphold their vision on their mod.

And if they don't think this should be in the design, I'll accept that and continue to be thankful

Just thinking that it would be nice though....

In the latest version, I've added cooldown pies to aura icons that should be enough for many classes. If I was to add spell specific features for druids, I would have to do it for all. By the way, you can target/focus people on a mouseover macro.

Not sure if it's stuf causing this, but here goes. I installed Stuf to give it a try, great addon however I eventually went with an oUF addon. Before changing though, I was tinkering with Stuf. I somehow managed to separate the mp & hp text from the main target and player frames. Now I can't get rid of them (they are the ones above my toon), I have removed everything Stuf related but they still remain, any ideas? I have attached a screenie that may help

Thanks

not shure if anyone mentioned it, but so far i cant get the hide while in raid to stick

also the target aura timer timers are hard to get right, they seem to move from when i have config mode on and when i actuly have a target, also noticed that when i have myself targeted and other people target the position is somewhat different... not shure how to explaine it ill try to take a few pics

otherwise the best unit frames seance discord.
