GathererDB unofficial data  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.0
by: zarnyeq2 [More]

This is an unofficial data update to the GathererDB addon compiled from wowhead on 2/21/2011, the actual GathererDB team is allowed to incorporate this file into any future post. (and when it is i have no further need to try to host it)

The data may include some nodes (especially treasure chest types) that gatherer itself does not know how to handle, but these are rare. It also was forced to ignore zones gatherer doesnt support such as most dungeons eg. wailing caverns

To install, Unzip the DB_WowheadData.lua file into your World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\GathererDB_Wowhead folder, reload your ui if wow is already open, and re import the data. (it supposedly wipes out the old import data)

you may need to increase the number of nodes displayed on the minimap, there are a LOT of them in some zones.

Same, I used the github update but I use the Routes addon and it's not finding data in some zones for gatherer OR gathermate2. Gonna try this out.

I verymuch appreciate this. I needed something for ROUTES to go on in Hyjal, and this really did the trick, thank you a TON.

no its not. Google "lloydpick gathererdb" - this is what I use.

There is a database there regularly updated on github.

i pulled the data from the map pins on wowhead, dont supose that there really ARE 309 cinderbloom, 699 twilight jasmin? i sure remember seeing areas with 8 guild recorded nodes on the minimap in uldum... pretty congested regardless where you get the data.

ya the 521+478+474 elementium/rich ele/pyrite probably are somewhat stacked on each other, but the DB isnt currently stored like that.... these new zones should probably be represented as cluster regions... (say the detection range is 60 yards, cluster them with 20 yard radius) kind of how quest/archaeology regions are drawn.

and the sensativity of the locations usually wont be fooled by standing on oposite sides of a node (with rare rounding exceptions) if you have to look for directly adjacent nodes and merge/filter them.

Ick. Although I welcome an update, just by the screenshot I think that it's a little extreme on the nodes. It looks like it's parsed a spot for every little variation of a node location based on the fact people may have clicked from a different spot (node located at (2.0,4.0), one person clicked at (2.1,4.2), another clicked at (1.9, 4.1), etc). People can't even see the map anymore with this.

Definitely needs some tweaking. Good attempt though.
