Tincup-UI 4.0 Optimized for 1920x1200  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Version 4.0
by: Tincup [More]

Tincup-UI 4.0

Ok this is the newest version of my UI. This is still a work in progress, but it is playable at the moment. I am still working on a healing layout and my raid frames. I will have them updated by the weekend.

To install:
Backup your current Interface folder and WTF folder.
Download and extract my UI to your main World of Warcraft folder.
Open the WTF folder and rename the Accountname, servername, and character folders with your information.
Start your game. Make your the load out of date addons is selected.
Login to the game and type "/reflux switch dps" in the chat window without the quotes.
This should fix 98% of any alignment issues, the chat frame may need to be manually moved.
To move the quest watch frame type /wf to unlock/lock the frame.

This UI is built for 1920 x 1200 resolution, to use with any other resolution will take some adjustments on your part.

If you have questions please feel free to ask, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

I am currently setting up an alternate version with Skada and such to reduce the memory footprint. Also, over the next few days I will be putting up a 16x9 widescreen version (or my wife is going to kill me), as well as a standard resolution version.

I may look at implementing oUF to replace Shadow Unit Frames. I haven't made a decision on this yet though...

The accuracy has always been a concern of mine as well, but have noticed that the difference between recount and skada is marginal if any at all. As for the Omen part, I dont believe there is any difference at all in the accuracy of the hate. As for recount/omen being widely used, I agree with this. And like you I would "prefer" to stay in line with my guildmates and friends, but change has to start somewhere.

If the accuracy on the damage portion of Skada is actually a problem (i.e. skada is inaccurate instead of recount, because honestly we dont know which is the actual inaccurate one) then maybe if we can provide some more backing for skada they will do some research into why its inaccurate.

What all was changed in the lite version btw?

Personally I like oUF, there is a lot of functionality behind it. As long as you know LUA a lot can be done to make it very very nice. Aside of that, it has a pretty small foot print. If you do decide to look more into oUF, then may I recommend using the oUF_Nivaya as a starting point? Nivaya has already implemented the really nice plugins for oUF into the layout so you wont have to do anything with that. All that will need to be done is modifying the positioning.

some modding if the artwork

Loving this UI so far. But one thing I don't like is the black box artwork, anyway to remove it? I use a 37" screen so messing with the ui scale doesnt really work in my favor. I can put my chat text and such in those boxes but then I have to get a telescope just to read it....any thoughts?

Are the boxes too large? The reason I ask is I use a 32" screen which is smaller than yours but not overwhelmingly and the boxes and text are in proportion on my screen. I use the smallest UI scale available in the video settings.

I can tell you how to get rid of the boxes and connectors, but do you want to be rid of all of them or just certain ones? Disable Kgpanels in the addons options on the login screen. This will turn the boxes and connectors off which will leave you a screen with buttons and text. Like the screenshot I posted below.

Need Help

Hi
First let me say that I think I would really like this UI, but having problems getting it to work with all toons. I have toons ranging from level 12 to 80. I can get the UI to work with all of them but my 80. For some reason it will not let me in the game when i try to log onto my level 80 with this UI. All other toons work just fine. Any suggestions?

With a lot of premade UI's there are toons that will freeze upon their first load. I had this as well with my hunter and my DK. This is the step I used to fix the issue and once the UI is loaded I haven't had the issue again.

1. At the login screen select the addon button, disable all addons.
2. Login with the toon you are having an issue with and move the toon to a new area (my suggestion would be outside a major city).
3. Log out and enable all addons, then enter the game again. You should be able to enter the game now. I have found this issue happens alot with the initial implementation of a UI.

Also the latest version of my UI has Skada as well as Recount and Omen. Be sure to de-select Recont and Omen if you choose to use Skada or the other way around if you choose not to use Skada.

Let me know if this fixes your issue, if so I will add a note to the addon's page to inform everyone.

This UI is just... Awesome!

But I have one damn problem and if im not able to fix it, I cant use this nice ui =(

I made a screenshot and i hope that you can help me

My Problem is the chatframe and the skadaframe (well... skada is easy to fix, i can lower the length, but the chat frame =/)

my resolution is 1280x1024 and i tried 24 and 36, but there was the same problem... it seems the width of my monitor is too small for the panels...

Which command did you use to load your interface? If you used anything other than the options with standard in the name you will run into this issue because they were designed for wide screen monitors. 1280x1024 is a standard aspect ratio. So try this command:

/reflux switch Q3bar-standard (36 Button layout)
or:
/reflux switch standard (24 Button layout)

If this doesn't fix the issue, send me a screenshot after you load up this configuration and I will do what I can to fix it where you can use the UI.

These two commands are exactly the ones, which I tried... and the screenshot was created with /reflux switch Q3bar-standard, but /reflux switch standard gave me the same result before

Thanks for you fast answer!

I have a partial update pending, once approved give that a try and let me know if it fixes your issue. If it does fix your issue I will put up a final version.

I apologize for the inconvenience, I don't have a standard resolution monitor to test those resolutions on. Maybe I will incorporate the use of a few Beta Testers
