Updated for 4.3.4

This file removes all sound files from the game so that you can clearly hear your addon sounds.
It affects all* sound files in game so you won't hear things like UI clicks or ready checks or boss speeches anymore. Addons that play their own sound files sill work though.

If you only want muted combat sound, check out the other file here.

Installation:
Extract the .rar into /Data directly so that you have a /Data/Sound directory.

* Note:
It doesn't affect music. Music can be disabled in game.

This mod was inspired by silverwind's Bossmod Sound Fix (while game is muted). It does however not rely on files with zero byte content but on "real" muted valid sound files (ogg and wav). The zero byte sound files gave me problems while playing addon sounds, where half of them just didn't play.
I don't have this problem with valid files.

thanks just noticed it in your addon description .. i have that installed but i can still hear people eat/mounts running/etc .. is this normal?

Yes, this is intended.
You could however mix those two addons if you just want the boss emotes and nothing else:

Download and install the "muted all" version.
Navigate to "Data/Sounds/Creatures" and delete all folders located within.
Download the "combat only" version and extract it to a different folder (i.e. not within your "Data" directory).
Navigate to where you extracted your "combat only" version and open the "Sound/Creatures" folder.
Then copy all the content from there to your "Data/Sound/Creature" folder.

If done correctly, you should now have a version which only plays boss emotes and your addon sound files.

Squiddy0 A Defias Bandit Forum posts: 3 File comments: 116 Uploads: 3	I am using a mix of both weapon & all folders I am finding that the: celestial steed fly idle nether ray mount fly idle Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth mount up sound still are enabled I tried to find it in the 'all' folder but didn't find the string to include them in what I have... thanks for your time. Edit found it - was 'mammoth roar' & the wing sounds I was missing from the 'all' folder - thanks again Last edited by Squiddy0 : 01-31-11 at 12:20 PM.

sp00n A Murloc Raider Forum posts: 8 File comments: 84 Uploads: 9	Wing flaps are in /Creature/WingFlaps (and WingFlapSmall). Not sure what exactly/which sounds you mean with the elephant though. Check the /Mammoth folder. And I think warlock demon form also uses the wing flaps sounds. Maybe paladins as well.
