Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

Is there a way to only display buff/debuff cast by me?

I think i have this by choosing filter "my" however I am a hunter and would also like to include those buffs from my pet please - how would i include pet buffs if pet name is "Biff" plz

(taking a stab at an idea i really know almost nothing about lua programming) so at line 155 in SBFFilters.lua you have:
-- my buffs
elseif (ex.c == MINE)
then subrc = (buff.caster == "player")

would it be possible to setup a class pet as
then subrc = (buff.caster == "playerpet")

there are many more locations that you would need to update to add playerpet but i would think it would be possible - yes?

Hi there. I'm using SBF as my target's buff/debuff checker. I only have 1 request.

An option so your own buffs/debuffs always show up first. I hate to search all the buffs/debuffs on a target to know how much time is left on mine.

Or perhaps an option to give your own buffs/debuffs another time color?

Noticed a slight problem.
I have a dedicated frame for "Important things", like Righteous Fury/Frost Presence/Trinket procs/other short but essential afflictions.
Then, problem is:
I have Horn of Winter sorted into this frame.
If I use it OOC, it properly place in right frame and start counting down.
If I use it in combat, it is nowhere to be found.
Strange thing is, all other designated buffs seems to get placed properly, Blade Barrier for example, on the same character.
Anyone else noticed such issue?

Greetings, and thanks for a very handy mod!

I've run into an unusual problem. It seems SBF doesn't like it if you uncheck both buffs and debuffs for a frame. It will default that frame to Buffs when you log in.

Recently, I decided to revamp my UI, and part of that involved playing around with where and how buffs are placed. I made several frames, of which three are relevant: One for auras, one for short-term buffs (under 60 seconds), and one for all other buffs. I then unchecked both Buffs and Debuffs in the default "Buffs" frame, and set the frame to Blacklist. Finally, I set the three custom buff frames to flow into the empty "Buffs" frame. This works very well.

However, when I log out then log back in, the Buffs frame has its Buffs setting checked. This causes buffs to double-display. I worked around it by setting the frame to Whitelist instead, but the Buffs check box keeps getting re-checked every time I log in.

oh one more thing, it seems you can only set the default two bars (buffs and debuffs) to switch to vehicle buffs/debuffs and not any newly created bars. At one point you use to be able to, back when it was only buffs and not debuffs that you could set up for vehicles. The option is greyed out to me for my new bars.

3.3 Bug

Your posted fix doesn't do it for me :s

My problem is that I can never see my buffs, but I can see debuffs.

I don't get errors, my buffs just don't show up :s

It's probably SBF I've been meaning to get some quality time to fix that and a couple of other nagging but small annoyances as the last maintenance release of version 3.1, but have been constantly crazy busy lately. Hopefully (hopefully) I will get that time this weekend.

Profile switching is actually close to done in my personal copy of SBF. I'll try to get it finished for that last maintenance release of 3.1. (Switching the profile in use is easy; making SBF reset all its settings once the profile switch happens takes a bit more work)

One thing people can maybe help with. I've gotten a few reports here, and a few other by other means, of SBF seeming to randomly decide to blow away people's saved settings, leaving these people with an empty saved variables file. It's never happened to me, or to many many people who use SBF. However, if I can figure out why it happens even super rarely to people, I'd like to do so. To that end, if this has happened or happens to you, shoot me an email ([email protected]) with as much detail as you can regarding other addons you have installed, what you were doing (logged out and logged back in and boom, settings gone?) and whatever else may seem relevant. Thanks!

I really truly love this mod, Its one mod i couldn't live without, which makes me put up with one tiny thing it does every so often when i log in or reload my UI sometimes.

every so often (quite often in fact) is that the gloss from button facade will stop working or the colored borders will not show up for debuffs. Happens all the time. I'm not sure if its SBF or Button Facade.

Disappointed Beyond Belief

So I just spent several hours figuring out how to use this addon and was REALLY liking how I got everything set up, only to find that when I relogged for another addon, SBF suddenly decided to stop showing any buffs whatsoever for no apparent reason. If I try to open SBF options to tweak settings, then all of the "test buffs" continue to show all over my screen even if I close the Options menu.

I tried the SBF Fix command and it did nothing. The only thing I could do was reset everything, lose hours of work and start completely from scratch. No Thanks! I won't be touching this addon ever again and completely wasting my time when it randomly decides to make me start over

It is enabled. I've even gone down to just SBF + SBF Options. No dice on getting options to open up. It complains again about the TimerTab.lua.
I found my solution was to delete my existing saved variables and start from scratch. Something in there must not have been in agreement with the timer module. It is now working as intended.

This sort of functionality is on the table for the new version of SBF. I asked the same thing before, about 6 pages ago, and Satrina answered that this would be possible in the new version. So for the moment, just have to wait!
