DockingStation (Display)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.5.26 (Beta)
by: Vrul [More]

A display platform for LibDataBroker (LDB) based plug-ins. The display is provided through panels, each having sections (Left, Center, Right) corresponding with how a plugin is justified within it.

All plugins are disabled by default and you must turn on the ones you want to use. This is to avoid the complete mess that results from all plugins being on with the first use. The only plugin on at the start is the one provided by this addon to access its options easily. Just click it to start changing settings.

With plugins unlocked you can drag and drop them to other panels/sections and have them automatically adjust to their new location. There are no limitations on the drag and drop capabilities other than the new location for a plugin must be within a panel. You may also change the location of a plugin through the plugin options menu.

Almost all sub-sections of settings have a default option. The defaults follow a set pattern. First plugins check their settings, if default, they next go to their panel's settings. If the panel is also set to default then it defers to the addon's global settings. Finally, if the global settings are still set to default, then the hard coded defaults are used.

Note: It is recommended that you delete the folder(s) for an existing addon when updating to a different version. This is to keep files that are no longer used from taking up space.

Translators: To submit a translation please just edit existing files (example: DockingStation\Locales\deDE.lua and DockingStation_Config\Locales\deDE.lua) and send them to me.

Just noticed that with the latest version tooltips no longer resize themselves if the text doesn't fit. It was fine with the older one (2.6 I think).

Scaling

Did you change something with scaling in the latest update? When I loaded into wow all addons fonts/tooltips were FAR smaller than before this update. My own addon which already has some scaling options was extremely small as I think the scales were multiplying or some such thing. Also some tooltips seem to bounce around in scale when you mouse over them.

Im haviing issues with tooltip text being truncated and ending up like this "ABCD....". Its seems like almost any LDB plugin that has it's own scaling options, seems to get this issue.

After more testing, every plugin that has scaling options, ends up with truncating text or display issues. If i lower the plugin scaling to lowest scale value the text appears fine, and not truncated. Also the plugins scaling option no longer works properly, they have no visual effect anymore on the tooltip size.

Go into the default options for plugins and change the tooltip scaling to 100%.

Yeah thats works, but the LDB plugin scaling option (the actual plugin) still dont work properly, some have huge tooltips that need to be scaled. DockingStation overrides the plugins option causing the issue.

Vrul? did you fiund a chance to have a look at it? Socialstate is the worst for me as i always used alt+click to invite people to raidgroups... which i can't do now because the window is about 300px below the bar...

oh and it doesn't use the right font (just like the other addons i mentioned above)

I have the positioning fixed but the resizing is still not working as I would like it. Tonight I will post an update, it probably won't fix tooltips completely, but it will at least get them back where they should be.

Hi! I'm currently trying DockingStation and get an annoying error message, when, for example, sending mail, where the message is:

"Interface\Addon\DockingStation\Frames.lua:245: Attempt to find 'this' in non-stable object (used '.' instead of ':'?)"

I also got this or a similar message popping up every few seconds in a heroic instance, but there, due to the rather stressful situation, I don't know when, and what exactly the message was.

Could you please check this?

Best regards!

Mouseover Tooltips

Having a problem with mouseovers. Of the 11 bars i have setup, 3 of them are failing to display the mouseover on the text, or icon representing the plugin. In playing around, i changed the background alpha to 100%, and saw that the plugins themselves would be hidden, as if the panel has a higher frame strata than the plugins.
This is relieved by toggling each plugin location, changing it's back and back again, however, it then resets on a reloadui, to being below the panel.

Also, the Configuration panel is never loaded in the Interface/Addons section when i first login. Meaing, if i try to access the config thru Interface/Addons tab, Dockingstation is not listed. It is only if i use the /command, that it then gets loaded, and is further accessible therein.

Lastly, Panel 10, shows up as 1, so i have 1 1 11 2 3 ... as my panels, using the default names.

Regards.

i have something strange going on today too, not sure which mod, but this would make the most sense. my tooltips are breaking and i'm getting random popup tooltips of my gear that looks like it coming from itemrack, and they don't go away. reloading fixes it, but then it breaks randomly and quickly again. any ideas?

Although tooltips still have some appearance issues, I think all the problems mentioned are corrected now.

DockingStation should be showing up in the AddOn options panel all the time now. If that is not the case with version 0.2.9+ then please let me know.
