Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle

Hey one more thing

I found a "bug" that causes hidden buff frames to block the mouse from interacting with the world frame. I tested it a bit and it seems its only the first buff of the frame, it happens to every frame and the only way around it i found was to completely disable mouse input (Clickthrough). Thats not a viable solution since i need the tooltips and to be able to cancel the buffs.

I know it sounds like a minor problem but it has already caused me some awkward moments Since i use a few frames close to the center of my screen.

Hope its enough info to solve it.

That's not a bug, it's just the way things work. You either disable all mouse input to a frame or allow all of it, there is no middle option. You have to let the icons accept mouse input to click them off or show tooltips. If the icons are accepting mouse input, then the world frame beneath it cannot be getting it to accept movement mouse inputs. Either use clickthrough and have the buffs visible in some other frame where you can dismiss them, or move your frames.

Out of curiosity, what the hell do you all do that has you clicking off buffs? I cannot even remember the last time I did that while playing.

SBF already has borders on each icon, and supports ButtonFacade for fancier ones. Border colouring already happens for debuffs based on debuff type. Other colourings are something I am thinking about.

And on a totally amused note, it always makes me chuckle the number of people who start off with some variation on "amazing how flexible SBF is" and inevitably conclude with "but what I'd really like is..."

Tooltip

[EDIT] Nvm my question. It was my tooltip addon that was doing this. Solved now

Hello.
I just installed Sbf to see what it looks like.
Seems very good. I only came across one problem.
I putted the frame on top of my screen, where the 'normal' buffs are usually.
But I have problems to see the tooltip when I mouseover the buffs.
Its all the time behind the buffs and can't read them.
Is there a way to change that. I couldn't find it and also couldn't find anything on the 'original' site about it.
Thanks in advance

3.1.5 is up!

If the overextending bar thing is not actually dead, let me know. I raided for a week without seeing it happen, so I hope it is finally gone.

With the new version copying another profile causes the entire WoW client to lock up.

Cool! I'll check into that.

I came across this the other day - a blast from the past! (long before SBFOptions got split out into a separate addon)

ha Filter also seems to include debuffs which have no category like "Bested Ironforge", etc from the Argentum Tournament.

As of 3.1.5, the ha filter now uses the results of asking the game directly about debuffs you can dispel:
Code:
name, ... = UnitDebuff(unitID, index, removable)
SBF now uses this to check all the debuffs on each unit you're tracking with that removable flag set to true, so any debuff the ha filter says you can remove is a debuff that the game client says you can. SBF isn't making any predictions or decisions, it's simply relaying what WoW is telling it.

If you're a paladin, damn near everything counts since you can bubble. If you're a mage, slightly less than damn near everything counts since you can iceblock. It may also be a bugged result

That doesn't rule out a bug in SBF, so I'll check!

minor help?

Hi all First Great addon (as well as digits)

second in the latest version 3.1.5 i seam to be haveing a problem with buff flowing settings,

while i work on one frame and flow to the other (my castable buffs on player(frame1) debbuffs on player flowing into frame 1 ) right after all works as expected but : if i either close and reopen SBF options or chose another frame to work on the buff flowing disappeared and even the list for frame 1 is cleared under buffflowing tab or if i relog all my changes are gone (any existing flow timers stay but no new ones will flow properly(hope that all makes sense).

and while not detrimental ide like to point out that if you try n move a frame either too far up or down the list it caused a hard crash in WOW , also theres a conflict somewhere between ellipsis and SBF (i was using ellipsis for cooldowns at one point but axed it in favor of SBF )

thanks for your time and for the addons its very much appreciated.

I tried around a bit, but didn't find a solution. Is there any way to filter target- buffs/debuffs? I'd like to seperate them between uncategorized, magic, poison, etc.

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Buffs - Who's left?

Before the last update, when i mouseover on a Buff i have, at the end of the description, SBF was used to write down a list of ppl in the party / raid that doesn't have that specific buff i was mouseovering.

Now this doesn't work anymore...instead it list the player who casted that specific buff. can some one help me please?

Thx a lot in advice

Thrillseeker - RTFM

Chains - I don't know what addon you have that does that, but it isn't SBF.

can this mod be made to do the following?

1 - group buffs and debuffs by the class that applied them
2 - collapse the groups into a single icon or other placeholder
3 - expand a group once moused over or clicked on to show all buffs / debuffs that belong to the grouping
4 - any ungrouped buff / debuff goes into another bucket that is entirely visible all the time.

I'm looking to significantly reduce my buff/debuff screen space while keeping it functional and greatly increase my ability to know if the right debuffs are being applied by class.

I cannot find anything so far that can approach this and I'm hoping this addon can as it appears to have the most robust setup I've seen
