ArkInventory (AI or ARKINV) is an inventory mod that was based off EngInventory when the BtS 2.0.0 patch came out and I needed a working replacement.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.


You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.


Overview:

* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing


Key Bindings:

Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

  • fixed - https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/1871 - updated object code to handle any new INVTYPE values better

known issues
  • some default frames (vendor/merchant at minimum) that would normally open via the PlayerInteractionFrameManager no longer open if you are in combat, you just get an addon error. there is currently no workaround.
  • (dragonflight) reagentbank slots are no longer readable unless the bank is open
  • recipes on vendors are showing item counts for the items they create, not the recipe
  • Enum.ItemConsumableSubclass is missing the Flask entry and everything after has moved down a value which screws up the category names (have hardcoded a workaround for the moment)
  • items with an active cooldown dont allow comparison tooltips to generate
  • cooldowns no longer start automatically. you can close/open the bag to get them to show (if you enable that option). all of the cooldown events ACTIONBAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, BAG_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, PET_BAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, SPELL_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, appear to trigger off other players as well, but do not provide any indication whether the event was triggered by you or them, so cooldowns will trigger window refreshes fairly constantly when you are around large numbers of players. even limiting it to one update per second generated too much lag, especially in massive groups.
  • chat link for a battlepet in the guild bank will not send
  • the first time you click on a hyperlink in chat it wont show the item counts

to do
  • double check all categories show/hide for the right clients
  • confirm things havent broken in classic, wrath, or shadowlands
  • restack disable - maybe change this to require a modifier key instead of a straight disable? might be easier to shift/alt/ctrl click on it than turning it on/off and its not like youll accidentally do it (which is why the disable was added)
  • backpack tokens to scroll when max width reached on second line
  • extend the categoryset actions to individual items for additional granular control.
  • add action; move (bank to bag, bag to bank, bag to vault, vault to bag)
  • add actions to items
  • allow multiple actions on a category / item

Is there a way to have items get sorted based on whatever stats it has? Because I'm using this rule:

tt(%+%d+ intellect, %+%d+ spirit)

to filter out any gear with int or spirit, but it isn't working.

LDB Text Format

Howdy!

Ooh, I do love me some ArkInventory, been using it forever and consider it one of the true 'must-haves'. This is such a teeny tiny thing it's almost embarassing to bring up, but here goes.

I recently switched from FuBar to the LDB display ChocolateBars, and was pleased to see that ArkInv has native support for LDB. Here's the thing though - the text on the LDB bar reads as "[Bag Icon] 15/92: Bags". I can't find an option to remove the word 'Bags' from the display, and I'd like to (told you it was teeny tiny!).

I've looked through most of the .lua files as well, hoping to find the text string of 'Bags' so I could just change it to ' ', but no luck. Anyone know where in the code I could nuke 'Bags' to '<blank>'?

UPDATE: Must be blind - there must be a text string associated with the LDB display, but I've searched every .lua file and can't seem to find it ... anyone?

Hello,

I have been using ArkInventory for quite some time, and I just made the switch to LDB. Back with FuBar, there was BagFu, where I could see how many bag slots I had left in a colored display, like this:

(bag icon) 31

With every bag plugin for LDB, they always show:

(bag icon) 31/104

Is there a way to remove the 104? I don't need to know my total bag space, I just wanna know how much I have left. Colored text would be nice too. If you could make ArkInv display like that, or if someone can give me a good LDB plugin for this, that would be greatly appreciated.

you wont find it because its using a blizzard constant (or a localised string) and 'nuking' it would remove it from the entire mod - not a good thing

lucky for you i've recently swapped from fubar to chocolatebar so im having a bit of fun adding more ldb parts (ammo, currencies, gold), i havent gotten around to adding config options for any of it yet though.

in regards to ditching the bag type, it should be possible, i just have to tweak the function that generates that piece of text (which is also displayed in the status bar of the mod).

im looking at allowing a choice of format between showing remaining slots (4 bag, 1 gem) vs used slots (16/20 bag, 17/18 gem)

it will be colour coded using the same colours for empty slots, so you'll be able to change bag type colours to whatever you want.

Few feature requests that have piled up in my mind now that I've been using this excellent addon for a while, who knows they might have been requested earlier too though..

Guild bank: This mod is quite a lifesaver with guildbank as I can order/categorise it to show according to my tastes without actually ordering the items around in the inventory. However to be usable replacement for the guild vault it would be nice to be able to access the log tabs in one way or another

Track currency: wow has inbuilt ability to track the secondary currencies apart from money, you can choose one of them (by shift-clicking) to be shown in the bagscreen along your money amount, it would be nice to have arkinv to show this tracked currency as well.

Bankstack: Arkinv has good stacking system, but it stacks only within bag or bank. It would be nice to have option to also stack to bank/bag so that unfilled stacks in the target location would be filled from the sourcelocation

right click on the bag for that tab and chose either vault, log or money

i've never really liked the idea so i doubt itll happen. not saying it wont just that i dont have a burning desire to add it in so ir probably wont turn up for a while, if ever.

That's a shame, as far as ldb goes, for me the sensible place for currency info is with my money amount showing brokerthing and I still end up with not having it in the inventory, alongside the moneyinfo there.. oh well..

Agreed, I'm seeing some weird behaviors on 3.2. Makes me realizes how much I'd come to depend on AI!

not full, just that im in australia so that means im at work right now, when i get home in about 6 hours and patch wow i'll hopefully figure out why its stuffed up, fix it and upload.

actually, someone submitted an error that shows the guildbankframes name has changed so if you disable ai for the vault it may allow the rest of the code to run and hook the updates properly (not 100% sure but it cant hurt).

are there any errors happening or its just not updating when you move stuff around?
Any references to GuildBankFrame (6623+) or GuildBankPopupFrame (6635+) cause errors. I'm not sure if the GuildBankUI was ondemand before but it is now.

i know for me while trying to visit the bank, it would not open at all. neither the bags or the bank. also there was no error shown. i hope this helps in someway..
