Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Target combo points

I can't customise my combo points on the target frame on my rogue. Each time I select "Combo Point" my frame rates drop to slideshow speeds.
It fixes up when selecting another section to customise tho.

Thanks for the reply, I was able to figure it out, another thing that is bugging me is how the background/actual frames are handled. Basically it seems like the part of the frame I can interact with the mouse is not properly aligned with the actual frame (evident when I am in a party with the border aggro coloring, the colored border appears way off than where the actual unit frame of who has aggro is, or when i try to left click on a frame). So far I have understood that it has something to do with backgrounds list options, If i go there and select "status bars" then I am able to see the portion that doesn't exactly match the health frames, but I can't understand how to align it so that it matches the actual position of the unit frames on my screen.

See either "Border Aggro Color" in the global options of either Stuf or StufRaid. In Stuf, you can also show some text on aggro.

Make sure that a group number or a class is not assigned to more than one header. That's the only thing I can think of that may cause this mix up.

Hrmm, maybe it has something to do with being a Warlock....?

There is definitely no "Curable Debuff Icon" setting under any frame and it is also definitely a stuff thing (it's attached to the frame, and is a "Curable debuff icon").

If it is class dependent setting then maybe you could make sure that the Warlock class is included since we have a defensive magic dispel.

Thanks for your prompt replys anyway, very much love the mod

AHA! I initially had no clue what that did because I expected any preview to occur on the actual frames (which for me are located in the lower-right corner) instead of the center of the screen (which was covered by the config window to where I couldn't see it). I rescind gripe #1. Nicely done!

The separate bar textures are a bit greed-before-need, I'll admit. Still though, I think it could make for a nice touch for those of us who use non-square bar textures. I do agree with you though...if it adversely affects performance, it's not worth it.

Thank you so much for the rapid response!

It'd be nice to have something more similar to plain Stuf's config mode (which is nothing short of awesome!), but it seems to me that Stuf Raid was more of an afterthought.

The other thing is that you can't have multiple textures for individual bars. For instance, I can't have the raid frames' health bars be TextureA and their corresponding power bars TextureB.

Ok, fair warning here...this is probably going to sound bitchy. Just don't get me wrong...I absolutely LOVE Stuf! <3

Re: Getting rid of big debuff icon in middle of frame...

First post here. I have to say STUF is amazing and is being included in my new minimalist UI compilation, but I am running into one road block.

I can't seem to get rid of that giant debuff icon that appears by default within the frames. I've managed to change everything else to my liking and have poured over every setting and cannot seem to find this.

On the player frame for example I have both buffs and debuffs disabled, yet it does not disappear. I looked under every setting as well as the global settings and have had no luck. Please help, thanks!
Any knowledge on this?

Thanks in advance.

The border color of the aura icons change depending on spell type. Is that what you're talking about? If so, Stuf has global color settings for each spell type. If not, then I have no idea since I don't use BF.

That's been a Blizzard bug for ages now. Nothing us authors can do, and we tried. All we can tell is use a /focus macro.

All positions in Stuf is from the TOPLEFT corner, so it would be a lot of work. With Lua, I suggest using math along with GetScreenHeight() and GetScreenWidth() to change the position variables.

Hello totalpackage, sorry to bother you again but I was wondering if you might point me in the right direction here. I have been looking around in Stuf's various Lua files, trying to find where the UIParent is set to TOPLEFT for the default base position of the all the frames is. I am wanting to make it so that the X and Y's 0 starter is at CENTER. I have tried replacing many 'TOPLEFT's with 'CENTER's but to no avail, I cannot find that default base marker. (my reasoning for this is that I would love to make a UI compilation using stuf that was able to scale well with all screen sizes.)

Please feel free to ignore this request if you feel it is inappropriate, I fully understand this might go a little beyond the border of what I should be asking of you.
