ArkInventory (AI or ARKINV) is an inventory mod that was based off EngInventory when the BtS 2.0.0 patch came out and I needed a working replacement.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.


You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.


Overview:

* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing


Key Bindings:

Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

  • fixed - https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/1871 - updated object code to handle any new INVTYPE values better

known issues
  • some default frames (vendor/merchant at minimum) that would normally open via the PlayerInteractionFrameManager no longer open if you are in combat, you just get an addon error. there is currently no workaround.
  • (dragonflight) reagentbank slots are no longer readable unless the bank is open
  • recipes on vendors are showing item counts for the items they create, not the recipe
  • Enum.ItemConsumableSubclass is missing the Flask entry and everything after has moved down a value which screws up the category names (have hardcoded a workaround for the moment)
  • items with an active cooldown dont allow comparison tooltips to generate
  • cooldowns no longer start automatically. you can close/open the bag to get them to show (if you enable that option). all of the cooldown events ACTIONBAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, BAG_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, PET_BAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, SPELL_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, appear to trigger off other players as well, but do not provide any indication whether the event was triggered by you or them, so cooldowns will trigger window refreshes fairly constantly when you are around large numbers of players. even limiting it to one update per second generated too much lag, especially in massive groups.
  • chat link for a battlepet in the guild bank will not send
  • the first time you click on a hyperlink in chat it wont show the item counts

to do
  • double check all categories show/hide for the right clients
  • confirm things havent broken in classic, wrath, or shadowlands
  • restack disable - maybe change this to require a modifier key instead of a straight disable? might be easier to shift/alt/ctrl click on it than turning it on/off and its not like youll accidentally do it (which is why the disable was added)
  • backpack tokens to scroll when max width reached on second line
  • extend the categoryset actions to individual items for additional granular control.
  • add action; move (bank to bag, bag to bank, bag to vault, vault to bag)
  • add actions to items
  • allow multiple actions on a category / item

Just downloaded the new version and got this error when I hit the mail box and when I tries to open the bags thru keybindings

I swapped out bags last night without a problem...

I had the new bags in the ArkInventory window of course, and I had to set AI to show the 4 bags at the bottom.... Took the new (larger) bag and dropped it one one of the old bags... Worked great.... The old bag automatically appeared in the AI window, along with the extra slots...

This AddOn is absolutely fantastic. Thank you!

I was wondering... Is there any way to assign a set number of slots to a category? For instance, as a mage, I like to carry around all of my mage specific items such as runes, dust, feathers... Takes up 6 slots. But when I run out of any of those items, I'd like the option to be able to see the empty slot for the item rather than the box resizing to fit what's there, Basically, the lazy mans way of telling me I need to buy more of that particular item. And I only want to do this with that specific category.

Any progress on the "keep on screen" thing yet? I have the latest version and don't see any options for it. Really the only thing I'm missing from this addon.

Problem

This is by far the most useful UI I have. I can't stand searching through my inventory to find stuff, especially trash grays. There is only 1 problem and 1 suggestion that I have.

Problem: CT_MailMod does not function properly with this mod enabled. When you try to take mail from you mailbox, nothing happens, literally nothing.

Suggestion: Can you make an option for the separate categories that allows a 1 click function to right click all the items within the category. For example, you have a space set aside for trash only. You set that space to have a button above it that when clicked, right clicks all the trash items. This way, if you are at a vendor you can click that button and all the trash is sold instantly. Another use is if you have different sets of armor. You have your tank set set as a category labeled "tank". When you are at the bank you click the button and that entire set is sent to your bags, then you click it again, the entire set is sent back to the bank. In my opinion this would be very useful.

Either way, this is a great UI and I am glad you created and posted it. Thanks you.

I have ct mail mod and it works just fine. You must have something else conflicting.

There is a mod on this site called Junk that does just this.

Another use is if you have different sets of armor. You have your tank set set as a category labeled "tank". When you are at the bank you click the button and that entire set is sent to your bags, then you click it again, the entire set is sent back to the bank. In my opinion this would be very useful.
Try Outfitter or ItemRack for this function.

Question Creating Custom Cats

Could someone tell me how to create custom categories? Fiddled with this for 30 mins.. .cant find out how...I go to edit mode, click an item, scroll to custom and nothing is there...cant enteranything... please help.

You have to add the Custom categories from the main bag menu.... Right-click on the top-left icon... (where you click 'edit mode') then you can create custom options...

I was cleaning out my add-on folder and accidentally deleted this mod. I didn't notice until I logged in.

I put it back in my add-on folder and when log in now I see it. When I click it in Khaos add-ons options in-game, it says go to unloaded add-ons and load it, but there is no section for unloaded add-ons once I am in.

I have no idea how to get it back up... I have tried all the reset commands and reloaded my ui ... any ideas?

Some great features in this mod. I love it. I'm just wondering though, is there a trick to the profiles? Seems I've overwritten mine a couple times after spending a considerable amount of time setting them up.

Howdy Folks!

I really love ArkInventory (kudos on making such huge strides with the inventory lag!), literally the only only thing I'd like to see is a way to put a label on the virtual bags. Sure I can look at a section and see that it's filled with, say, all potions ... but it sure would be nice to be able to just have a little tag over that section that simply reads 'Potions'.

I spent some time last night trying to switch over to Baggins (which labels the virtual bags) and CharacterInfo/Storage, as Baggins doesn't yet track 'offline' banks - it's workable, but kludgy, and the CharacterInfo bank view is just awful, blech.

If this isn't a feature worth adding to the general release, is there maybe someway I can just brute force / hardcode labels into the Lua/XML somehow?
