Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

I'm pretty shure the 'boss frames' will be used only in the new dungeons with Cataclysm. The unit frames then pop up automatically once you engage a boss in combat, so you're able to track their health. I don't think you are able to change their behavoir.

Also, I'm not shure if this happens with any boss or just the ones who spawn something of the way of adds or where you have to fight multiple boss mobs at the same time.

Being able to edit the stack count's font behavior on buffs/debuffs on the raid frames would be great

I addressed some of your comments on my local copy, but it is too minor to release.

Also, I am going to have to put up a bloat warning to most of the requests. If you do not care for performance/memory usage, check out another UF mod .

Had a question about multiple layouts on one toon. I used reflux before and made my UI that had two unique layouts of Stuf that could be swapped with the reflux switch command. It seems now when I try to make another UI using this concept it will just not work. I add the StufDB to reflux but it still will only hold one layout per toon.

Is there anyway I can add profiles to Stuf myself? Im trying to remake my UI that had a tank and a healer layout in one package.

worgen male portrait

When you transform from human to worgen the portrait changes to body instead of facial and pretty much vice versa if you put it to body it changes to facial.

I seem to be having a compatibility issue with Clique; attempting to open the unit menu on a Stuf frame with binding set up to anything but modifier+right click/right click causes the unit menu opening sound to play, but no menu shows up. I've tried defaulting Stuf settings and running no addons but Clique and Stuf.

The unit menu shows up fine on Blizzard's default frames. I also tried deleting Clique's and stuf's savedvariables and rebinding show unit menu, but got no results.

Using latest version of Clique (v40000-1.3.2) and Stuf (4.0.006)

Thanks for the great AddOn!

Pet Health bar

Hey awesome mod.

Just wondering is it possible to make the Pet health bar the colour of its happiness?

I know its possible with the text and lua code since I'm doing it that way already, was just wondering about it since I wanted to mess around with it

I am experiencing the same problem. The issue occurs intermittently and can be corrected by reloading the UI (sometimes requires additional reloads to correct the issue). Here is the error I receive:

Hello, I play a warlock both as demo and affliction. When I am affliction all my debuffs show up as they are applied to the target without any noticeable delay. I have found though when I switch to demo things don't show right away. An average of 4 to 5 seconds pass before a debuff I have applied will show. It will happen with all debuffs available to a demo lock but not always.

The reason this is a problem for me is I often end up casting a spell multiple times although recently I've just been waiting for a few seconds to see if it shows up which on top of monitoring other cool downs makes things very difficult as a demo lock. I'm not sure why this happens I have dual specialization and if I'm affliction everything is perfect as debuffs I apply show up right away but as soon as I switch to demo debuffs begin to get lazy.

I get no errors and I'm at a loss for what could be causing this. However, for whatever reason I am thinking the warlock spells Immolate and/or Hand of Gul'dan is the culprit those are two debuffs that are not used by affliction warlocks and it feels like it always locks up on those spells but this is just speculation. If I can provide you with any more information that may help please let me know.
