shNameplates
A light-weight and beautiful nameplate addon that works right out of the box!

Why use this addon instead of some of the other famous nameplates? Simple: elegance, ease of use, and efficiency. Other addons similar to shNameplates are extremely "busy" or they are too plain. In some cases, they are highly inefficient when it comes to coding.
  • Unit Name
  • Raid Icon
  • Unit Level (using blizzard code to add difficulty coloring)
  • PvE coloring (blizzard based) and PvP coloring (class colored based)
  • Aggro and threat color (with glow overlay)
  • Castbar, Cast Time, and Spell Icon
  • Health Text Display (using color gradient for percentage)
  • Auto toggle on and off when in or out of combat (user set via config.lua)
  • Lots of config attributes that handle nameplate behavior, colors, fonts, and positioning (user set via config.lua)
  • Configuration that allows repositioning of the spell and raid icons (user set via config.lua)
  • Configuration option for TANKMODE (green coloring on aggro) and namecoloring (colors pvp enemy names with their class color) (user set via config.lua - PLEASE see changelog for more details)
  • Target cast spell names (for both channeled and cast)
  • Mouse over highlighting
  • Cool new fade in effects when nameplates appear
  • Target Unit POWER bar under health frame. SET TO ONLY IN PVP (b/c who cares about mob power at this point in the game)
  • COMBO points for feral and rogues...AND addition of showing Chi, burning embers, soul shards, holy power, burning embers, etc. (SELF buffs ony)
  • Now works with Icicle and/or Plate Buffs

NOTE: I want to thank the following authors: Caelian, Tekkub, Luzz, and Rothar. Especially Caelian, b/c I have based this addon to his famous addon caelNameplates

@Soulmoon: you can definitely do that if you know lua. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to add that into the code right now. But if you want to play around with it (and if you know lua), I would recommend playing around with the showHealth function. Specifically tweaking lines 123/124 and then again on lines 129 and 131 and set the formatted text to display whatever you want

@infernovx: most of the settings you are talking about can be manipulated by checking out the config.lua file. As far as the border/shadow color change lines, you can change the colors of the borders by manipulating the r,g,b settings on lines 178 and 181. It's really easy if you want to play around.

@autobot: that is how I have it currently set up...just like the blizzard nameplate border color scheme. However, there is a setting you can turn on and off in the config.lua file named "tankmode". This changes the ENTIRE healthbar itself and makes it much easier to tank IMO. However, if you don't want that...the default is: red = when you have aggro, yellow = when you are high on threat but NOT no1 in threat, and white/custom color when there is no aggro table.

@Tyralis: check out config.lua and read my comments on how to change the font.

is it possible ?

Thought i would give this addon a try after seeing a few times here, but i was wondering if i it can be config like a old name plate i used to use that has been updated for a while.
I tank 9 times out of 10 and i wanted to make it so when i have aggro the border is red and when i lose aggro its yellow, makes it easier to see in trash mobs that get loose. Have yet to try this is a raid or dungeon so not sure what the default tank mode looks like.

I can't get the border to change colour. Its stuck on white and I prefer black like caelNamePlates. Also the level is anchored to the name and I wanted the level on the left side but it changes distance depending on the width of the player name. If I could anchor it to the health bar instead, that would be much better but I'm not sure how.

Also I cant change the text otherwise it doesnt show up and lowers my fps very heavily. Whats the reason on this?

Can you please help as I really want to get this addon working. Thanks

How to make visible only percentage of health instead of the value of the text's health cur/max?

I have drawn here as I would like to use paint

Thank you for the compliment bud! As far as making you namplates look like the classic design, just go into the config file and play around with the settings. I would recommend making the nameplate height shorter and moving the health text, etc to match where you want it to go. It is really easy to do and when you are done making the changes and want to see how they look, just save the config.lua file and then reload your ui.

I hope that helps.

i think shUI uses the SharedMedia addon and forgot to change something...

the new version got saved with this in config.lua on line 14:

Code:
cfg.bartex = 	[=[Interface\AddOns\SharedMedia\statusbar\Glamour4]=] --mediapath.."bartexture"
just change it back to this and see if that resolves your transparent nameplate issue.
Code:
cfg.bartex = 	mediapath.."bartexture"
