    Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

    Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.


    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

    If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

    This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua



    About the add-on:

    The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

    About the author:

    I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

    I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

    Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

    2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

    IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
    This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

    There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
    Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

    - DataStore_Containers: Fixed COMMON_NUM_BAG_SLOTS to be NUM_BAG_SLOTS + 1 for retail, and NUM_BAG_SLOTS for non-retail, instead of the opposite.

    - Fixed an issue where sorting the bags while the merchant frame is opened would trigger a slow down (Thanks Belazor !)
    - DataStore_Containers: Removed an invalid test when closing a bank frame.

    Altoholic does not track JC-only trinkets properly.
    (Nor does it RecipeRadar, but that's a whole different issue)

    See, it says "Already known" and "Could be learnable" at the same time.
    Altoholic DO know that this recipe is known, but it has different name in book.
    "Figurine - Black Pearl Panther"
    So, all other figurines.

    @waxie: Same reply as on Curse. You can either disable the option to "show all accounts in the tooltip counters", or completely clean your altoholic.lua from saved variables if you need this option.

    @harl: Just out of curiosity, since I apparently made a mistake that I can't find in 3.0.006b, what kind of problems did you face ?

    Edit: I just fixed the same issue with two guildmates, it has to do with a DB that has not been cleaned when upgrading to version 3.0.006

    I'm not getting that previously mentioned error.

    But I had to delete my SavedVariables/Altoholic.lua for Altoholic to be fully functional again, since all of its tooltip parts were just showing 1 everywhere even if I had more than 1 piece of that item with that same character.

    Everything's fine now again, just wanted to let you know.
    If it's previously been mentioned already, I'm sorry.

    It would be great to be able to search alt's recipes (enchanting, etc.)
    This has been implemented a long time ago. There's also an option to enable/disable this.

    A wishlist has been on my to-do-list since the beginning and it will happen at some point. I want this to be a bit more than just notes though.

    Thanks, the second clean installation is ok. The translation will be later to submit after I've try the things out.

    @Night0wl & AnrDaemon: For the well-being (sp?) of other readers, let's stay diligent and talk only about the issue.

    @Night0wl: I won't be able to test thoroughly before this weekend, but I can already confirm that AUCTION_HOUSE_DISPLAY is not a constant or a widget that I'm using (or even referring to) in Altoholic, so that would be on Auctioneers' side. Another thing is that from what I had seen when I last tested Auctioneer, it's divided into multiple modules, are you sure that you removed all dependencies ? It may be obvious, but I have to ask to get that possibility out of the way.

    Anyway, don't hesistate to PM me with a complete error log + screenshot if appropriate, I'm ok to look into the issue and provide feedback as much as I possibly can.

    The error exactly says it's AUCTION_HOUSE_DISPLAY. tooltips still functioning normal, but when I open altoholic, guess it still try to use auctioneer display method which is registered somewhere else that I don't aware of.

    This is not a bug of alto, resides it as an auctioneer side effect. But it's still worth to know that this two together will affects each other.
