GUIS: gUI™ Fan Update 4.2

Version: 1.9.5
by: Famous00 [More]

First off all credits go to the famous "Goldpaw" Who started this UI and made it amazing.. I took the time to start updating it and fixing it when he went away for awhile, as it still stands hes gone still so ill keep updating it for him til he comes back.. You can see his Blog here
http://goldpaw.blogspot.com/

What is this?

This is a full UI. A single addon that takes control of the action bars, unit frames, buffs, chat frames, minimap, nameplates, etc. It has no dependencies. This is the first to be released in a series of UIs built upon the same framework.

Installation...

1. If you want, make a backup of your old WTF folder before you begin

2. Extract the 3 folders to your main World or Warcraft folder.

3. Inside the WTF folder you just extracted, rename the 3 folders ACCOUNTNAME, SERVERNAME, and CHARACTERNAME with your information.

4. Start the game and click "Addons" make sure their all loaded before you enter the world

5. Start the game, once in the game you will notice the interface asks you if you want to configure it, say YES and then say FULL

6. After configing the UI your notice the SexyCooldowns is still out of place to fix this your need to type "reflux switch GUI" but without the ""

7. This should Fix your UI like the pictures.. Dont forget to do /glock and position all the other frames as you like.

One size fits all

The UI is viewable on resolutions down to 1280x800 (Widescreen), but looks best on 1440x900 or above. Full HD (1920 x 1080 Widescreen) is recommended.

How do I configure it?

/glock - lock/unlock the frames for movement
/greset - reset the position of movable frames
/resetbars - reset the position of movable actionbars only
/resetbags - return the bags to their default position
/showsidebars, /hidesidebars - toggle display of both the side actionbars
/showrightbar, /hiderightbar - toggle display of the rightmost side actionbar
/showleftbar, /hideleftbar - toggle display of the leftmost side actionbar
/showpet, /hidepet - toggle display of the pet actionbar
/showshift, /hideshift - toggle display of the shift/stance/aspect actionbar
/showtotem, /hidetotem - toggle display of the totembar
/rl - reload the user interface
/gm - opens the help frame
/chatmenu - opens the chatframe menu
/mapmenu - opens the Minimap middle-click menu
/tt or /wt - whispers your current target
/tf or /wf - whispers your current focus target
/showhotkeys, /hidehotkeys - toggle hotkeys on actionbuttons
/shownames, /hidenames - toggle macro name display on actionbuttons
/mainspec - activate your main talent specialization
/offspec - activate your secondary talent specialization
/togglespec - toggle between your dual talent specializations
/ghelp - shows this menu

UI controls

Love the UI but im interested in configuration. I would like to change the unit frames, position of the Auras, Size and what auras are displayed. Im not interested in seeing 50 debuffs in a raid fight. i would like to Increase the size of the ToT.

i like to use them in a strait line. and the side auras cause overlaping. they are also just above my bars and the debuffs can mount up and over lap them as well.

just curious if advance configuration will be in the full pac

Hey, Thanks for the response. I did get the UI installed... but when I first logged in, it never asked me to configure all. On my druid/rogue I notice the bar with druid forms and stealth appears up where you have your tiny dps to the right of the minimap. Also the sexy cooldown isn't in the correct place and I'm not sure where to type "reflux switch GUI" but without the "". I have tried "/reflux switch GUI" and nothing happens. Just a little confused here, other then that I love the UI, good work!

I can answer that one: Design choice!

The whole UI is designed with a sort of cubic and blocky style in mind, not the extreme minimalism that UIs and addons like nibMicroMenu have.

Also, the icons used for the minimenu are the same ones that are used in the default WoW UI. And that too is an intended design choice. I believe that we as players in WoW have all learned to recognize things by their icons and colors, and I don't want to change that with this UI.

Letters would also be different for each locale, which would/could lead to confusion. But in the end, it's all about the design choices.

About the MicroMenu, I did use that for awhile, but Just wasnt looking right.. I like people to have the solid Blizzlike UI but still keeping it Small and Clean as possible.. But thank you for the suggestion.

This UI is not minimalistic in that respect. It's a beautiful one all the same. Small downloads aside, this is graphical if you take the sections by their facevalue. There is Generic, Graphical, Minimalistic, Healer, DPS, Tank, Classes. These all apply to the inner game aspect, not the download size.

Anyway..I am still confused as how to turn off extra actionbars. It really bothers me to have wasted screen space.

This package is by far more Minimalistic by true definition of "smallest or least" as it's only 5mbs and could be smaller if the author removes DBM and atlas loot. In fact the most truest Minimalistic UIs in this section are Tukui edits and FreeUI as the package sizes are under 1mb.
