pError  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 40100.5-Release
by: p3lim [More]

This addon is discontinued.

Description:
pError is a simple addon to filter out spam in the UIErrorsFrame.
Its designed to be robust and easy to use.
If you're not exactly sure about what it does, take a look at the screenshot to the right.

FAQ:
How do I filter more errors?
Simple, just use the '/perror' slash command to add error strings.
Example: '/perror spell is not ready yet'

This takes a long time! Can't I do this faster?
You can make pError listen to the UIErrorsFrame and put anything that shows into the database.
Usage: '/perror listen'

How do I remove error filters?
Just use the '/perror' slash command like you added it.

How can I see what errors I filter out?
Use '/perror list' and the saved list will be printed out.

How can I reset the whole list?
Use '/perror reset' to reset the database.

How can I remove all errors at once?
This addon does not do this, look for a different one.

Full changelog can be found on GitHub:

Test out the newest version (30200.3-Beta) to see if the savedvariable issue is fixed for you all.
Don't forget to delete the pError.lua file in your savedvariables folder before launching the game if you've had previous issues with this addon.

Oooooh. Stupid patch and d/cing. Apparently I still had pError enabled and when I unchecked the "Errors" check mark (right click "General" tab, go to "Other" and there it is) and thought it was eating errors, 'cause pError was doing its job. =\ Sorry for that. However, WTF is the "Error" option in the chat settings? I couldn't get it to show or hide anything that I could detect, and certainly not errors from the UIErrorsFrame. Is it lua errors?

Blizzard added it how? The options that I find in the normal Blizzard options do not eliminate all off these annoying errors like your wonderful mod did! I kinda couldn't live without this mod! Help a brother out

haven't to type all the errors names out to hide, now kinda blows..

The only thing to figure out is that...the mod description hasn't changed since it first came out, but the mod itself has.

In the old pre-WoW 3.0, pre-Lich King days, you could set your own filters via slash commands in ErrorMonster. But in the current revision, there are *three* filters you can select in total (again, "Error messages", "Information messages" & "System messages"). Those three choices cannot be further altered other than choosing to see them in or out of combat and what Sink output to send them to.

Thus, pError here offers more flexibility (with more work) as you can specify any of your own text strings to filter. But pError filtered messages are no longer seen, they can't be redirected to a Sink output as ErrorMonster provides.

Different strokes, different folks.

But please report bugs in the right place
As opposed to...the left place?

Normally do, did not have time yesterday. Thanks for the quick fix; pError works fine now.

Not the most detailed filtering, but it works.

IMPORTANT:
Update to rev 19 before 3.2, if not you will lose your blacklist database!
