This is a simple AddOn for a simple idea -- pull the quest log into side-by-side areas so it's double wide instead of cramping the size of the quest list.

Original conception, and graphics by Kudane.

0.7 - Updated for WoW 3.0 and properly supports an empty quest log

the most we may see is some slight tweaking of images if I notice glitches.. there are too many excellent quest tracking mods out there that can be added for us to "reinvent the wheel" as it were.

Don't fret Tekkub, if we do decided to add features. it will be a different mod (maybe Doublwide Ultra, hehehe)

^^ I like people who know when to say no to feature requests, or at least spawn them off into a different project. Too many mods go all Borgy and assimilate every nice idea that comes along. That's why I've not run a mod like this one in a long time, they keep doing shit to my tracker!

Okay, and now to comment after actually using it.

Hooked up with Fizzwidget's Levelator, this makes a wonderful replacement for the increasingly kludgy EQL3! Thanks Iriel, a tasty snack indeed.

Oh, forgot to add QuestInitiators too...the three work extremely well together!

DoubleWide & other mods?

I've just witnessed some "weird" behaviour, I'm using nQuestLog (ace addon, if that might be a cause), a mod which adds the usual quest levels in front of the quest names in
the quest pane, and has its own tracker, but leaves the quest pane untouched otherwise (no buttons moved etc. to my knowledge).

DoubleWide works fine with it, except for one tiny detail:
When I use the (-) besides a quest category (e.g. Darkshore), then the (+) again, suddenly that category is "naked", meaning no quest levels besides them. If I close and open the DoubleWide quest pane, the levels are back. I assume it's some kind of updating not happening correctly in one of the two mods, any chance it can be easily fixed from within the DoubleWide code?

Other than that, love it, used to use EQL until it stopped working, don't want any bloatware, and don't want (e.g. quest level) stuff added to this mod. However it'd be nice if that expand/collapse "bug" could be fixed.

Heya Iriel,
This doesn't work for me. It'd appear to be the same error as what's being reported in the German client in vincentgdg's report.

I went through the disabling mods routine, and it'd appear that MobileFrames from Cosmos is the conflict. Disabling this allows DoubleWide to load.

By the way, the URL in the UpdateUI.xml (http://www.vigilance-committee.org/w...leWide-UUI.xml ) 404's.

Thanks, Iriel. Works a treat. I understand that moving the 'share' button will require updated graphics, I look forward to another future release. Good to see the mod works with MobileFrames now

Btw, I don't use those files. Was just an observation made while hunting around for possible later versions that weren't here ;-)

Very slick. I like it. The nice thing is that one of my addons (Mobmap) which adds a little ? next to objectives still works. Kudos on not creating entirely new frames that would make this more difficult.

Nice addon! I'm an instant fan! If I were you I'd be tempted to float this past some blizz devs and see what might come of it.

I wouldn't worry overly much about moving buttons... click or click there, it's still a click.

I've noticed one small, but annoying, problem with this otherwise great mod. When I have the log open and press "Esc", the log window closes, but the main menu pops up, just like I had pressed "Esc" with no windows open. BTW, I'm running on a Mac, if that makes any difference.

I've noticed that, too! When you Esc to close the map, you close the window and bring up the game menu.
