Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

About the add-on:

The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

About the author:

I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

Spot on, dear... spot on.
Altoholic only recording ilevel when it changes.
I've looged a toon on another server I've not visited for monts, if not years, and it's AiL was blank.
Taking off shoes immediately fixed it.

Yup, works like a charm and also about the AiL - It seems to update after briefly equipping another item and then back again, toggle Altoholic (/alto toggle) off/on and it now shows correct AiL too.. Gotta love it!

If you've installed it properly, it's under Currency tab.

Ok i will try an explain a bit better, you asked me to "check if the AiL column showing proper level for character when you are logged with it". Which I took to mean if my character logged in was 85 and what the AiL should be according to Blizzards Character UI, but having read it again I am not sure what you entirely meant by that as the AiL still = 0.0, sorry?

Check if the AiL column showing proper level for character when you are logged with it.
If it does, but "forgetting" it when you are logged in as different character, you probably have an issue with file permissions on your WTF folder.
Do you have WoW installed in Program Files by chance? (Do you run it under Windows?)

I have checked the Ail Column showing the proper level for my characters when logged in which still shows 0.0 under that column.

WoW is installled in the Public/Games folder under Windows 7.

Could you please be more specific?
The AiL column display averade item level of equipped items.
If certain characters are listed as having AiL =0.0, this means you haven't logged to them in a while, they are nude, or you have issues with write access to your SavedVariables folder.

I found the button to make it so that when I hover over an item, I only see the counts for the alts on the same faction. Unfortunately, I can't find anything that will only look in guild banks on the same faction. In other words, on Character Septo, a Goblin, I hover over the earthroot in my bag, and I see that I have some, my horde-alt's-guild-bank has some, and my alliance-alt's-guild-bank has some. How do I avoid seeing my alliance-alt's-guild-bank? Also, in the suggestions, having my goblin level up in Westfall seems a little unlikely... do I have something misconfigured? Thanks immensely for this addon. I love it to pieces. I've only recently started having horde characters, and so only noticed the cross-faction stuff in the last month.
