eXtreme Unit Buttons  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v2.0
by: tayedaen [More]

This highly configurable mod allows players to associate buttons to unit frames. It is meant as a replacement to GroupButtons which stopped functioning with the 2.0 patch in December 2006. The mod extends the capabilities of GroupButtons by providing these additional features:

  1. an unlimited number of buttons per unit frame
  2. Buttons which turn on/off depending on the amount of damage a unit has
  3. Buttons which are dimmed if a unit as that buff or a related buff applied.
  4. Buttons which appear when a debuff is applied to a unit.
  5. Buttons which allow you to have any type of "/" slash or macro command on a button
  6. A variety of a modes for different activities in the game. For example, a set of buttons
  7. for soloing, buttons for instances, buttons for raids, buttons for specific bosses (such as Baron Geddon in MC (to all priests to debuff), buttons for PvP, etc.
  8. Assign buttons to unit frames that when clicked cast spells on different units. This feature allows, for example, buffs and heals for the player unit to appear within the target buttons to minimize the amount of mouse movement between buttons.
  9. Works for any kind of non-casting classes; specifically warriors and rogues.

Version 2.0 (Dec 06, 2010) (by tayedaen)

I know that the documentation is a complete mess at the moment, I am already working on it.
But I wanted to have a released version for cataclysm start.

Before upgrading, please read the included 'readme.txt'.

You will loose your config, so read carefully !

Hightlights of the changes since the last official release:

Code:
New: Support for default profiles for spec1 and spec 2
New: Wizards for Group and Profile generation
 Please use them !
New: LDB button (and menu)
New: Default Buttons now always use the Prefix 'SB_'
This is an abbreviation for StandardButton.
I recommend to use 'CB_' as prefix for custom buttons.
New: '$' self condition for cast buttons (buff, debuff etc.)
 Example: CB_Renew,buff,Renew,$Renew
This custom buutton will only chnge to the state BUFFED if the destination unit is buffed with your OWN Renew.
New: '!' inverts conditions for cast buttons (buff, debuff etc.)
New: new debuff condition "Death"
A button with this condition is only shown if the destination unit is dead.
New: new debuff condition "Purge"
A button with this condition is only shown if the destination unit has at least one buff to purge.
New: two keywords for exclude-units:
  'hostile' and 'friendly'
  Example: MyGroupName,SB_Renew,*,hostile
This button will be hidden on hostile units (= it will only be shown on friendly units)
New: Spell ranks have been removed (multiranking too)
New: Macro buttons support now '[target=unit#]'
Here unit# will be rpalced at runtime with the unit the button is attached to.
 Example: /target [target=unit#]
Improved: Verification of buttons while configuring the addon

And last but not least:
!!! Improved: Internals are mostly rewritten from scratch for better performance !!!

Please refer to 'z_historic_Changelog.txt' for older changes.
Known problems:
XPerl's partypets get no buttons

Known blizzard bugs:
------------------------
'isUsableSpell' is broken, there is nothing I can do to change that.
That means: Some spells are reported 'not usable' if you target a hostile target or NPC (like 'PowerWord: Shield' for example).

Enjoy - Tayedaen

Hello,

I love this add-on, thank you !
Sorry for beeing a newbie, I have two simple questions :
- Should I install this version first, and then the Beta one ? Or can I directly install the beta version ? I didn't quite get it.
- In bgs, everytime a player joins/quits the raid, ALL the buttons appear for about 2secs. Is there a way to disable this ?

Thanks a lot !

If you want to test the Beta you need ot look at the file size. Some are full installs - others patch previous beta's. Otherwise install 1.7.1 for now.

I am sure something could be done but it is pretty far down the list.

Thanks for your answer ! I'll try to find a way around then.

I found something about the "ALL buttons appear when a party/raid change occur" issue : it's related to the "party/raid change delay" in the Xub options.

At the moment the slider goes from 0 to 15sec. I'm trying to see if I can modify a file to make it go to 9999sec. So that even if a party/raid change occur, it doesn't trigger all the buttons.

Uh, I don't think you want to do that, as you need to refresh your button setup when someone enters/leaves the group/raid.

I put mine at five seconds, and don't really notice the buttons enabled burped. Having said that, it would be nice to have this corrected at some point in the future.

Question Enhancement Request

For 'use' buttons, when the item to be used can only be used on certain locations, can they be disabled if not in the location where the item can be used.

Thinking specifically of the Battlegrounds bandages, there's one that can only be used in Warsong Gulch, and another that can only be used in Arathi Basin.

Right now if I have two buttons, one for each button, they are always enabled/showing, even if they cannot be used.

Unfortunately, there is no buff/debuff that says you are in Warsong Gulch BG (for example), otherwise I could have just gone that route.

Thanks for your hard work, it is appreciated.

I made a pvp profile different from my regular group one. In this pvp profile, I have no buttons attached to raid/party members (I use Clique for heals). I then put the refresh time at 9999sec and it works wonders in AV.

Only bad side is that I don't see when my buffs expire. Just to let you know how I "fixed" it for AV

type '/XUB uf'
That opens the unitframe window.
Next to each line there you'll see the size of the buttons (for example: 20).
No move your mouse over this number, and then you can change it with the scrollwheel of your mouse

Guess installing addons very late at night makes me blind.
Thanks for the fast reply.

The screen is VERY sensitive to where you click. You have to be in the upper left corner. Once you have something typed in it is a lot easier.

player buttons position

is there a way to position the player buttons differently from the party buttons? since i use the default blizzard unitframe, i would like to use 'bottomleft' for player and 'topright' for party.

Hey, if I get back into the game (not saying I would), I don't think I'd recognize the mod for all the changes you've applied to it.

Just poking around. I did play LOTRO for a few weeks, but like WOW, I have just too many real-life responsibilities that I just couldn't invest the time into it.

How's the mod holding out?

Cheers,
- El

Sounds like you are asking for different anchor points for party vs. other UI bars?

Right now you can't, via the XUB UI, but you can manually place buttons in relation to each other. Its what I do to get a differnt location for my party buttons vs. other buttons.

Here's an example...
normal,party,healing,-25,35
In that example, the healing buttons are placed -25 off the anchor point horizontally, and 35 off the anchor point vertically.

One thing I'm not 100% sure of (the devs can confirm this), but I think the values off the anchor point are only for the first button. If you supply offset numbers for other buttons in the same group, they offset of the previous button, not the anchor point.

You'd be proud of them Elenesski, they've done great work and are helping out the community well.

The v1.8ß cycle is going on now, a few bugs to take care of, but its moving along well.
