Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

@ComputerNerd: That's odd. MBF is supposed to stop automatic gathering during combat. I'll look into it and see what it's doing.

Taint in combat.

Been having upon entering combat for the first time a message telling me that an "Interface action failed because of an AddOn".
After turning on the Taint logging I found entries mentioning MinimapButtonFrame much like the following.

An action was blocked in combat because of taint from Ace3 - MinimapButtonFrame:SetWidth()
Interface\AddOns\MinimapButtonFrame\MinimapButtonFrame.lua:1700 updatePositions()
Interface\AddOns\MinimapButtonFrame\MinimapButtonFrame.lua:1800
xpcall()
safecall Dispatcher[2]:9
Interface\AddOns\Ace3\AceTimer-3.0\AceTimer-3.0.lua:164

Doesn't seem to impact on the functionality though, just annoying.

Re: hi

@ FyreFoxx - You need to just set up a seperate profile for each character otherwise MBF just uses the default profile for everyone.

@ Wargasum - MBF has a feature that if you put your mouse over any item on the screen and enter the command /mbf info it will show you all the info you need for the item to add an exception.

@Sassyxo - It seems Chinchilla does something to the minimap buttons when the blip size is changed. If you return that setting to default it should go back to normal.

I'm hoping to do some work to get some of the issues fixed soon. I haven't had the time to work on it recently. I'll go though the comments and see what needs to be fixed.

Any idea how i can change the appearance of the MBF minimap button?
I managed to change the default red coin icon into something else, but i can't find a way to get rid of the default blizzard button border.
I found a way to remove that border from all the other collected buttons, but not from the MBF one.
This icon isn't collected btw. Its the only one i have on my minimap and i use it to open the frame.

I really did not want to sift through 30 pages of posts to see if this has already been said, so forgive me if it has. I'm getting a little tired of my frame moving itself when I switch characters. Say it's in the perfect spot on my priest.. on any other character, it mysteriously moves higher by a certain amount (sometimes double) or lower than where I originally placed it. If I fix it, say, on my warrior, then when I go back to my priest, the placement has changed (moving up or down depending on how I needed to fix it on the other toon). Is there a way to keep the damn thing still and not move around while switching toons?

How do I get this working properly for ElvUI. It seems to drag / reposition the UI skin/button for the minimap instead of the minimap buttons.

I read that putting it in the exception part will fix this, but not sure what to add to the exceptions. Can anyone help?

hi

Am having an issue w/ this and chinchilla minimap. I have posted a message on chinchilla's comment, but I thought I would here too in case someone reading this, or the author of MBF might have an idea as to why my buttons in MBF are all smashed together and over lapping when I got the chinchilla map addon. I have removed and re-downloaded both, yet the issue is not resolved. I also disabled chinchilla to see MBF working flawlessly as before. I would love to be able to use both addons, so hoping there is something that can be done to make them work together.
thanks

thanks for an epic addon!
The next version of Archy will check for MBF and add itself to the protected frames list if it's not on it already.

Tracking button

The Blizzard tracking button for some reason will only go into the second slot of the MBF frame. The next button in the list is then placed over the top of the tracking button. I tried deleting the settings file in the WTF folder and it still does the same thing.

Having a similar issue as thetakerfan, only with my "No Mail" button. I took two screenshots to show what the problem is.
The first one shows the normal layout and the second one the layout when the LFG button comes into play. In both cases the "No Mail" button is out of line.
Thanks
