Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Being able to edit the stack count's font behavior on buffs/debuffs on the raid frames would be great

I'm pretty shure the 'boss frames' will be used only in the new dungeons with Cataclysm. The unit frames then pop up automatically once you engage a boss in combat, so you're able to track their health. I don't think you are able to change their behavoir.

Also, I'm not shure if this happens with any boss or just the ones who spawn something of the way of adds or where you have to fight multiple boss mobs at the same time.

Thumbs up mp99

I am trying to use the mp99 condition and it seems to have an issue.
Code:
[power_if_mp99:percmp]
See the issue is is that it only seems to fire for Mana. All the others like Rune, Rage Energy, etc.. do not seem to work.
Was wondering if you could help me on this. Also was wondering if it is possible to do the same effect as mp99, but make it not show when I have no Rage or rune power. (Hide @ 0-/100, show @ 1+/100 )

Thank you, your addon is amazingly light weight for it's feature rich make-up.

This is imperative for healers. Please add player to party frames.

To have party frames anywhere other than under the player frame requires a lot of movement of the eyes.

If ya can just add the ability to add player to party frames, would be awesome for all healers!

Is there a way to put text so that if a power bar doesn't exist, it will not hide the text? As was mentioned a few pages back, you can't search the comments, so I'm sure this was asked somewhere in the 101 pages of comments, but I can't find it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing about adding spell names to aura bars? (I asked before but wasn't answered >.<)

Hi!

totalpackage, I have to say, since I started playing WoW again this October I didn't feel like getting a lot of AddOns (again). However, once I looked for a battleground timer and found yours, I got Stuf UF, Stellar Bars and CloseUp immediately. They're great!

Anyhoo, right now I'm looking for a way to hide the party frames automatically whenever I'm in a raid or battleground. I've looked thoroughly in stuf_options, but couldn't find it. Anybody?

Best regards

any chance you'd consider adding a fade feature based on harm?

Has anyone else seen an issue with mana/power texts showing larger then others even when set to the same size?

I'm using an 8pt pixel font set to 8pt. If I use the hp tag below it looks fine:
Code:
[curph]/[maxhp]-[perchp]%
but if I place the following in that exact same box, the text appears about 10% larger and fuzzy:
Code:
[curmp]/[maxmp]-[percmp]%
Attempting to adjust the size when using the mana/power tags does not fix it.

Doing a complete reset and return to defaults does not fix it. In fact the default layout appears to have the exact same issue.

I am using the 4.0.006 version from curse.

Hmmm I have a strange behavior regarding the buff/debuff icons.

The cooldown model overlaying the icon is not overlaying any icon besides the ones on the player frame for me. I can fiddle around with framelevels in the "aura.lua" but all I can get is the effect that the pie is above the icon texture and the count/timers are also below the pie (and therefor hard to see when covered).

If I use Stuf out-of-the-box and do nothing with its insides, the cooldown pie is not visible except on the border of the icon - there you can see the spark wandering around clockwise while the duration counts down.

Soooo: the cooldown frame is there & working but some framelevels are messed up I think.

Please take a look and keep up the great work - it is a marvellous UF-addon.

I have swatter. Its catching no errors. Its been happening to a few friends of mine as well. I've even tried it with all mods except stuf off. No errors, but not adjusting it without a reload. Its strange.

With that said. One feature I notice in Cata beta is the ability to show player frame in the party. To attach player frame to party 1. I wonder if thats possible here? If so, im many healers would appreciate it.

There should be a tooltip warning on the "Show 3D" option about that.

Already requested and denied since you can switch the border to something. If you want a thicker or thinner border, make one or add an already made file.

Was it intentional, with the latest release, that certain changes, such as buff/debuff sizing, health/power bar sizing... hrm okay most sizing options actually, and some positioning options... with both Stuf Unit Frames and Stuf Raid Frames are not showing live? As in, it requires a reload to show any changes?
Sounds like you're getting errors without knowing about them. Enable showing Lua errors or download a bug tracking mod.
