Righteous Reminder

Version: 0.1.8
by: duckilama [More]

Update: Here's try #1 at fixing the Localisation bug. Fingers are crossed.

Since I often forget to put up RF AND I have improved RF which gives me 6% flat damage reduction, it's really dumb to forget to buff this, but I do it all the time. Even in instances when I'm tanking.

Therefore, I give you this little helper. Or maybe I just give it to myself, and if someone else likes it, uses it, changes it, extends it, whatever, it's all good.

It's Ace'd now, and I borrowed voraciously from FinderReminder this time around.

Any time your buffs change(seals, auras, blessings, buffs, on login, on zoning), it checks to see if you have Righteous Fury up.
If not, you get a button dialog box, just like Finder Reminder, with a button to cast Righteous Fury. You can cancel, but as I don't have a "snooze" button yet, it'll pop up again any time your buffs change.

NEED TESTING:
1) Add localisation strings

TODO:
2) Add a "snooze" button or a "I'm in healbot mode" button that will suspend checking/prompting for a given period of time.
3) Add user-configurability to the "snooze" or mode setting, so you can make it go away for whatever amount of time you like.

Still not done improving this, but please let me know what you think.
Many thanks to Erwyn(Pala Aura Reminder) and tard(FinderReminder). I can remember Auras, but I forget RF all the time.

Localised

deDE and frFR are in there, but I don't know for sure if they work, since I can't test them. I did test to make sure enUS still works, and it does.

Give it a whirl.

Sorry, I haven't got the deDE and frFR strings in there yet, which would explain your seeing it _all_ the time. It's working great in enUS, and I promise to get the localised version uploaded today. (Probably around noon GMT -5.

Sorry about that.

That was fast
Will try it out later, thanks

Edit:
This is realy an annoying Messagebox^^
It also pops up when I have Righteous Fury.
I noticed this as I mount, cast a spell and more.
Maybe something with the Events not working correct?
I'm using the German client if this helps.

Got the new version updated, and a screenshot.
Featuring:
-A button! Instead of the text nag, a real, live, working button!
-No more checking all buffs on every OnUpdate() of the game. Event-driven! Whee!
-Now with Ace2.
-An unpopulated Localisation file, but as noted in previous comments, I have strings for multiple languages, just have to implement them.

This is much better, I think.

And does what it says.
My reasoning to Ace it would be that from what I've seen, Ace makes it _much_ easier to:
1)build button frames
2)handle events like "in a town" or "buffs changed"

Yes, it is simple and does no more than what it says.
But I would like to pop up a button just like finder reminder instead of a constant stream of "RF Missing" to the Error Frame. I'd also like it to be a _bit_ more event-driven. As it is now, it checks the player buffs on every single Update cycle.
(Note: I do like it, and the original, so I'm not disparaging the code I got it from, I would just prefer a _little_ more.)

Because I'm using the german client, I modified your AddOn a bit.
Now it uses localisations and has the german and english local in it.
It's easy to add new locals
German local is working well but can't test the english one.
I can PM you this version if you want.
