Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

About the add-on:

The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

About the author:

I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

- Fixed an issue where sorting the bags while the merchant frame is opened would trigger a slow down (Thanks Belazor !)

Not everything is fixed, I am still working on professions and quests, but I did not want to delay the release anymore. As with every expansion release YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES (check the top of the change log if you don't know how to do that). I have setup a Patreon which will need to be approved, so in a few days, you will be able to support the development if you feel like it I also created a wish list on Amazon, if you would like contributing in another way. Most of the small things are fixed. Now I'm working on the professions, it's a slightly more difficult task because of the changes Blizzard made, but they seem to have improved the API a bit, so that should help. @Barleduq: no Patreon yet, but I'm seriously starting to think about it. RL has to come first. Thank you for continuing to try to keep things stable. Do you want error reports, or would you rather we simply hunker down and cope until you get a version out?

This was the second addon I ever installed, and the first one died with Cata (questhelper, with the little ant-lines...).

Tellurian A Kobold Labourer Forum posts: 0 File comments: 1 Uploads: 0	Guild Info missing I have recently been plagued by the addon not showing any guild information in the GUI or Tooltips, but oddly enough it DOES show when on ONE of my GF's 2 linked accounts, but not her other (all on my computer.) I have tried removing the entirety (except the (reinstalled)addon) of the WTF, Interface, and Cache folders from the Wow folder. No dice. triggered by another addon?

I have the addon Overachiever installed. Among the things it does is add information to the windows that pop up when you click on an achievement in chat, like when someone in your guild gets an achievement and it shows up in guild chat.

Today, the achievement "The Grim Reaper" showed up, and I clicked on it. (That *should* be http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=229) Overachiever showed that I got that achievement a few years ago. At the same time that the info window popped up, swatter popped up this error. I'm leaving my addon list intact in case that info is relevant.
