Bongos2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.10.1
by: Tuller [More]

I have written a new action bar addon, called Dominos, and am no longer supporting this one. Please feel free to try it out, along with Trinity Bars, and Bartender 3

Bongos is an action bar replacement designed to be both low memory, and easy to setup. It is not as feature rich as other bar mods, but should include the features most commonly used.

Version History
A Brief Guide

Included Addons

  • Bongos2: The core addon.
  • Bongos2 ActionBar: Breaks up the main action bar into movable parts
  • Bongos2 Stats: A display for latency, framerate, and memory usage
  • Bongos2 RollBar: Makes the frame for rolling on items movable
  • Bongos2 CastBar: A movable casting bar, with the ability to show cast time
  • Bongos2 XP: A movable experience bar
  • Bongos2 MapBar: A movable mapbar
  • Bongos2 Options: A dynamically loaded options menu for Bongos

Features
  • Every Bongos bar can be moved, hidden, and have its scale and opacity altered
  • Sticky bars - Each bar can be anchored to any other bar
  • 120 action buttons, which can be setup in any number of bars
  • Both macro and key binding text on action buttons can be hidden
  • Customizable stance transitions for each bar

General Settings
  • To bring up the options menu: type /bongos menu
  • To unlock bars: uncheck the lock bars option in the main options menu
  • To hide or show a bar: unlock bars, then middle click or shift right click it
  • To move a bar: unlock bars, and then click and drag it with the left mouse button
  • To bring up a bar's configuration menu, right click it

Key Bindings
  • Bindings for the Bongos action bar should only be done via the bindings menu in Bongos
  • To bind keys, open the main options panel, and select the bindings option. Hover over a button, then press a key to bind it to that button

Action Bar Settings
  • Accessing general action bar options: open up the main options window (/bongos menu) and select the action bars panel
  • Adjusting the layout of a given bar: unlock bars and right click the bar you want to adjust to bring up its configuration menu
  • Moving buttons: Hold down the key for moving buttons (shift by default), and drag a button. Alternatively, unlock button positions by shift right clicking the mini map button, or unchecking the option in the main options menu
  • Making a bar bigger: You can increase the maximum size of a given bar by reducing the number of action bars. To do so, adjust the action bars slider on the action bar panel of the main options menu. This option will reset the settings of your action bars

Stances and Paging
  • Stances and paging are configured via a bar's right click menu. With bars unlocked, right click the bar you want to change,

Slash Commands
  • All commands start with either /bongos, /bob, or /bgs
  • <barList> can have a possible value of an actionbar number, menu, bags, pet. class, or all
  • You can also specify a group or range of bars, the command /bo scale 1-3 class 1.2 will scale action bars 1 2 3, and the class bar to 120% of their normal size.
  • /bongos - Shows the options menu, if present
  • /bongos lock - Toggles locking bars positions
  • /bongos show <barList> - Shows <barList>
  • /bongos hide <barList> - Hides <barList>
  • /bongos toggle <barList> - Toggles <barList>
  • /bongos scale <barList> <scale> - Sets the scale of <barList> to <scale>
  • /bongos setalpha <barList> <opacity> - Sets the opacity of <barList> to <opacity>
  • /bongos set <profile> - Sets the current character to use <profile>
  • /bongos copy <profile> - Copies all settings from <profile>
  • /bongos delete <profile> - Deletes <profile>
  • /bongos reset - Loads default settings
  • /bongos version - Displays what version of bongos you're running
  • /keybound - Toggles keybinding mode

Stances work prefect till I go in combat, once I do, it won't switch bars.

Any ideas?

Again, this is an Autobar issue, not a Bongos one. All stance changes are currently working in the latest release of Bongos, both in and out of combat.

Just installed Bongos2 1.4 and the stance changes for my druid are now working both in and out of combat. /Cheer!

When I did the install I deleted all the Bongos Addon folders as well as the bongos.lua and bongos.lua.bk files in the WTF.

The default setting when I logged in shows all of the actionbars in a block in the middle of the screen. All of the slots still contained the correct spells and the key bindings still worked. Another /cheer!

I had taken a screenshot of the pre-install setup with bongos in edit mode so I could easily see where each actionbar went. It took me 5 minutes to move the bars where they needed to be and I was done.

By the way, thank you for adding back both the castbar and xpbar. I klnow that'll make a lot of folks happy.

The stance changes worked out of the box (ie, I made no changes) and that if anything is still a little confusing in bongos2 if I have to make changes in the future. My only suggestion would be for someone to write a some instructions on how to use the page and stance settings.

Thank you, Tuller, for a great addon!

Map Bar

When I'm at a vendor, or when I trade with someone, my character window opens on top of the vendor window or the trade window -- instead of being pushed to the right as it should be. By enabling/disabling mods, I've narrowed it down to the map bar. No other component of Bongos2 causes this problem.

BTW, thanks for bringing back the map and the exp bars!

You had mentioned you were having the same issue, and the poster was commenting on a bug using Autobar.

If stances aren't working, it's not a Bongos error. That can't be said enough, try disabling your other mods.

Stance switching lag?

I've not tested exactly what causes this yet, so it may or may not be a Bongos problem, but wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

I just finally got around to resetting my warrior bars again and notice that now when I switch stances via Shift# (Bound to the class bar stance icons), that there is a small half-second or so freeze/lag whenever I switch stances. I'ts not much, but it does delay me doing any sort of stance switching abilities.

I've not yet removed anything to see if another mod is causing the issue, but I figured I'd ask here if anyone else has noticed it since the patch. Afterall if someone says "YES" then I'm fairly sure it's something within Bongos (probably due to a blizzard code change yet again) but if it's a NO then I know I can rule out Bongos as the direct cause.

I just did a few quick tests in and out of combat, using my default keybindings (Control - F1-3), using Shift 1-3, and using the mouse click (for comparison). So far I've not seen any lag or freezes due to stance changes.

Yes, you can configure any bar to shift on a stance change, just right click the bar while it's unlocked and configure as desired.

Warrior stances

Ok-
Ive been using Bongos for a while and had the stances set up for my warrior. With bongos2, I cant figure out how to set the stances up. Can someone please post step by step directions on how to set up the stances. I am sure I am not the only one who cant figure it out.
This was my previous setup:

Battle stance was my primary stance so they were assigned lines 1 and 2

Defensive stance changed from battle stance line 1 to line 4 and line 2 to line 6

Berserker stance changed from battle stance line 1 to line 7 and line 2 to line 8

Please help.

This is my post I made on curse. Seemed to help some figure it out. Good luck.

using 2.1h beta.

ok. I changed how I set up my stance bars and I think I solved my problem with stance dancing in combat and getting attacked when I have no target sometimes sticking to the bar showing regardless of stance changing for that fight.

I had 3 bars. Using bar one as my stance bar with bars 2 and 3 hidden with same formats(looks). I right clicked bar one..hit the stance tab and left it at "0" for battle. "1" for defense and slid the slider to "2" for beserker. I originally used "1", "2" and "3" respectively for my stances and well this is incorrect. The number reflects movement...not the actual bar number. So, when I am in battle..it does not move (Thus "0"). If I want to mov to def stance it moves "1" over and "2"over for beserk.

I get the logic now..but how I originally had it set..well worked fine when not in battle but if I stance danced...sometimes my trade bar(my bar4) would pop up on the first rows on beserk and beserk would put me in def...it got messy to the point of sometimes only showing Bar 1 regardless of my stance.

I can't help but wonder if the set up is throwing people off...and perhaps this may not be the "best" way to set up stance bars. Perhaps the sliders should represent the bar number instead of bar movements? Or maybe we should be able to name our bars? All these ones and twos can get confusing? Perhaps the bars should be letters? Like BarA (defaultBattleStance) moves 1 position to BarB for DefensiveStance and BarA will move 2 positions for BerserkerStance?

Anyways, I still love bongos. Just trying to share what I figured out and throw out some suggestions.

PS The modifier for page swapping is working perfect for me, thank you. Well, now that I changed my stance bar sliders...to 0.1.2 instead of 1,2, 3, they working great now, too.
