Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Is the comment system messed up or did you answer your own question?

No, and you don't.

Check Stuf's aura colors. If not, I'm not handling BF reports anymore.
if its possible then were and what would i do to make it happen

Try an add-on called Reflux for profile switching. The author here has clearly stated that he won't be adding profile functionality to Stuf.

Thumbs up Portait Customization

Thank you! This is a great add-on. I love how customizable it is without all the bloat. It's great too that the raid frames are separate, I don't need them since I use Grid on raids.

I'm brainstorming on a new custom UI design and was wondering if it's possible to use a 3D portrait with a round border instead of square? The focus frames default layout with the round 2D image inspired this, I'd like to make something similar with 3D. I realize Stuf's default options don't allow this (that I am aware of), but would it be possible with a custom border texture or something? Happy to share anything I create with you if so.

Also, is it possible to flip the 3D portraits, so the character is facing the other way?

What some people do is attach a texture with a panel mod and cover the portrait to make it look circular. Other than that, no way to make a 3D portrait circular due to the API's limitations. There is also no simple way to flip a 3D face portrait. You'll notice that not all units face the same way in the first place.

Thanks for teh swift response! This is what I suspected but wanted to be certain before getting too deep into it. I'll already familiar and quite fond of kgPanels and will certainly use that as a fall back, but I'm wondering if I can add a new custom border to SharedMedia and apply it using Stuf's portrait border options just to make the unit frame more mobile. (the time I spend fluffing my panels already borderlines on absurd. XD)

And you're right, now that you mention it, the portraits change the way they are facing dependent on help or harmful units, don't they?

You can check out the image files for borders to see if you can make one fit, but I doubt it. You can try living with 2D portraits.

The way the portrait is facing depends more on mob type, but even that is not 100%. You'll notice this on druid shape-shifting and fighting an enemy of the same race. Blizzard determined the camera preset for face shots.

Something I've found missing in this monster of addons, is the ability to set border thickness. The issue I ran into was that I had all borders of the KgPanel frames set to 8 which is thinner than the default of the chosen border.

I solved this by doubling all size values of the frame, and then reduced the scale by 50%, which set it back to the correct size yet reduced the border thickness by half.

Just something I've found missing.

Also, I had an issue with the full-body 3D portrait. You cannot place it at the bottom of the screen without it folding itself. There's probably no way to re-code this as I'm assuming the addon uses Blizzard's code, but hoping that I'm wrong, I'd love to see a solution.

Tried making the frame really wide, and through that managed to place it at the bottom. As the figure holds its true value it looked just fine on playable models, but when targeting something large it covered a huge part of the screen.

Anyway, great addon.

Keep up the awesome work, you should get paid for this!

How hard would it be to add an alert icon when blessing of might is not on the classes that need it, or is there but has less then 5 mins remaining with the remaining time text. Trying to phase out pally power.

+ the ability to play with shadow offset.

Am loving this mod so far. Thank you so much for the work you've put into it.

Had one quick question - is there a way to represent your experience as a text value or as a bar?

Show player in party frame

Sorry if this is posted somewhere but I couldn't find it if it is.

Is there a way to show the player's health bar in the party frame?
