Clique is a simple addon that enables powerful click-casting and hover-casting on your unit frames and in the 3D game world. You can bind virtually any mouse or keyboard combination to a spell or macro. In it's normal configuration this enables you to use the bindings over your unit frames in order to cast spells directly on that unit. This allows you to more quickly select both the spell to cast, and the target of the spell without requiring an extra click.
To begin with Clique, open your spellbook and click on the new tab that is shown there. You can also open the configuration GUI by running the /clique slash command. From this binding interface you can add, remove and alter any of your Clique bindings. You will be unable to make these changes when you are in combat due to limitations in the Blizzard API.
Binding a spell
Binding a spell is just a matter of finding the spell in your spellbook, putting your mouse over it, and performing the binding you would like to add. For example, if you'd like to set 'Regrowth' to activate on 'Shift-LeftButton', then you just find that spell in your spellbook and then Shift-LeftClick on it. You can also bind keyboard combinations, so you could do the same with Shift-R if you'd like.
Keep in mind when you are setting your bindings that they will override any bindings that are already set on the frame, for example the default bindings to 'Target unit' and 'Show unit menu'. You can override these bindings if you would like, but you should then set a new different combination that will activate the original functions
Binding the 'Target unit' or 'Show unit menu' actions
If you've rebound or lose these default bindings, you can re-bind them using the 'Bind other' button in the Clique configuration. Click on the button, and choose the correct action and you will be presented with a dialog box that allows you to set the binding for that action. Simply choose a new key combination, and you will be able to target units and open your menu again.
Binding a macro
Binding a macro can also be found on the 'Bind other' button. You'll be given a new window with instructions and suggestions about writing your macros, but other than that the process should seem very similar.
Managing click-sets
Each binding can belong to a number of binding-sets. These sets determine when the binding is active. The built-in binding-sets are as follows:

I've received two hard WoW crashes related to using two different revisions of Clique. Not 100% reproducible, but both happened when doing the exact same thing.
In the Blizzard spellbook in the Clique binding frame, click the "X" on the upper right of the spell book to close it. WoW has crashed immediately after doing that twice. Have had no issues/crashes closing the spellbook via the "X" without going into the Clique binding frame (something I've done more often than going into that frame). First crash with some Clique version between 1.1.0 & 1.2.2 (text from the associated "\Errors\...Crash.txt" files): Code:

The instructions on that page specify how to do it, but it's as simple as: /cast [target=mouseover] Regrowth or /cast [@mouseover] Regrowth

focus/clearfocus
I'm having a heck of a time recreating my focus macro for Clique, that will also clearfocus if nothing is on mouseover. Did Blizz change focus usage in macros, and I just missed the info on it?
If I have /clearfocus and /focus [@mouseover] in the macro, it will set focus just fine, but will not clear at all. Google is failing me in finding specifics regarding this. |

Not that I'm aware of. You should be able to use
/focus [target=mouseover, exists] mouseover /clearfocus [target=mouseover, noexists] Or something like that. I just tested this, and it works properly when bound as a global click. I bound it to alt-k and it does exactly what I expect it to do.

Hmm, well the clearfocus still doesn't want to work for me. I must have something else interfering. Thanks for the response.
edit: I should clarify that the macro works fine as a keybind, but not using alt-middle mouse click on clique, which is what I had done in the previous version.

Make two binds, one that sets the focus on the unit you click on and one that clears the focus unconditionally, i.e. /clearfocus. None of this logic has changed, as far as I am aware. The only thing that changed aroudn it was sticky targeting being enabled by default, but I don't think this is the problem.

I'm just frustrating myself when I'm sure I could do that before, but with the clique update not carrying over a prebuilt focus function this time, I'm not sure what the user-made script to imitate it should be to work. ... I AM remembering that correctly, right? Wasn't there a prebuilt 'select focus' option when building a cliquebind? Ah well. I just hate change and having to fix addons on major updates I'll live with it eventually. |

The macro I posted is correct: Code:
/focus [target=mouseover, exists] mouseover /clearfocus [target=mouseover, noexists] If there is no mouseover unit (i.e. the mouse is anywhere else), then clearfocus. When I bind this precise macro to alt-middle button, and then set that as the 'global' bind set only, it works properly. When I alt-middlebutton on a unit or a unit frame, then it focuses the unit. Anywhere else, it clears it.

Its Clique that is modifying/overlaying the Blizzard spellbook frame via BindConfig.lua. And its clicking a specific element in that modified frame (the "close" button) that results in the full WoW crashes. Speaking of which, another full WoW crash happened yet again today with v40000-1.2.11 in identical circumstances when I forgot not to click the "X" to close the frame...grrrr. Have yet to experience a crash doing the same thing in the standard Blizzard spellbook frame on characters not using Clique. Also have yet to experience a crash on characters using Clique...pressing ESC to close the frame instead of clicking the "X". Would appreciate if it could be looked at; bugs are one thing, full crashes (potentially losing data, time, future raid invites, etc.) are something else entirely. |

It needs to be reported, full stop. Do the right thing, and report it. You have the crash report, I don't. I can make changes to Clique that will BYPASS this issue, but I cannot fix the bug. I can only fix the symptom. The bug needs to be reported to Blizzard so they can fix it. I was never passing blame, I can obviously make changes that can avoid this issue, if I can identify it. Here's the problem with that:
Thanks for the report, but PLEASE report the crash to Blizzard, as I indicated in my initial response. I'll continue to look into it, but I'm blind in the middle of a cave without the ability to reproduce the issue.

Hey,
I noticed a slighter issue with Clique today, causing a minimal kind of "lag" when I enter -or- leave combat. This generates no LUA error, but it's reproducible (for me) by loading Clique as the only add-on, starting to fight something (anything, really) and see my whole view bop for just a very short moment when combat begins/ends. Having an array of additional add-ons loaded, this very short moment adds up a bit, not a whole much but enough to be rather irritating. I wonder if this is something you could fix (or prevent) somehow, since Clique has become a very helpful thing to me. |
