LineemUP  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.14
by: Travisstorma [More]

Just a quick mod I threw together to help line up interface objects. You can drag the lines around with the mouse after you create them.

Slash commands are:

/leu or /lineemup or you can just use /line

/leu x -- Creates a x plane line.
/leu y -- Creates a y plane line.
/leu clear -- Clears all lines.
/leu clear x -- Clears all x plane lines.
/leu clear y -- Clears all y plane lines.
/leu clear <linename> -- Clears the line... /leu clear leu1 -- clears LeU1 line.
/leu move <linename> <%> -- Moves the line to the specified place..
/leu move leu1 33 -- moves line 1 to 33% from either bottom or left side.
/leu save -- saves line positions between sessions
/leu restore -- restores the saved line locations
/leu pixel -- Toggles pixel showing on and off on the tooltip.

You can also use /line instead of /leu or /lineemup
/leu x -- Creates a x axis line.
/leu y -- Creates a y axis line.
/leu clear -- Clears all lines.
/leu clear x -- Clears all x plane lines.
/leu clear y -- Clears all y plane lines.
/leu clear <linename> -- Clears the line... /leu clear leu1 -- clears LeU1 line.
/leu move <linename> <%> -- Moves the line to the specified place.. /leu move leu1 33 -- moves line 1 to 33% from either bottom or left side.
/leu save -- Saves frame positions between reload sessions
/leu restore -- Restores saved frame positions
/leu pixel -- toggles showing pixel count

Trying to not make this a nightly occurrence with the updates...
Changed the way that the frames are saved. Saves values now from pixel values instead of percentages. This should allow for better restore frame positioning.
Updated some user texts, punctuation and removed the "Attempting to Save" phrase.

----------
1.07 11-08-2010
--
Went back to 1 pixel wide lines. Might be harder to get ahold of with mouse, but more accurate. Looking for feedback on this change.
Fixed frame naming for when you create frames and then restore frames from previous session. This caused it to pile the frames on top of each other and become non-mouse interactive.

----------
1.06 11-04-2010
--
Added pixel toggle support.
Fixed mispelled "pixel"
Turned off a debug on the /leu restore function... sorry.

----------
1.05 11-03-2010

Made ability to save frame locations between ui reloads and logouts. See save and restore commands.
Removed the pixel location on the tooltip. Really had no use.

Cata changes.

----------
1.03 12-09-2009

Added the move feature.
Made the line 1 pixle wide instead of two. This helps support the move feature so it don't move to 33.1% when you only want it to 33%.

Updated .toc for new interface number.

----------

great job

I've tried other mods that do a similar job and this one is far simpler and more functional. I really love the ability to drag the bars and the accompanying tooltip that shows current position.

Best of all its tiny.

Been using align for years, but this looks far more useful. Thanks, I'll give it a go!

Wow awesome!
Could you add commands like
/leu x <value>
/leu y <value>
for easier placing of the lines?
Or even
/leu <x-value> <y-value>
for placing x and y lines through that point?

Hello! Been using this for a while but noticed the slash command change you made with 3.2. Perhaps you may want to chance the slash command information (brought up in-game) to reflect the fact that /line is now an option?

Thank you for this addon

The functionality mentioned by Banur would be very useful. You could then set up a macro to generate a number of lines so that you can easily restore them at the positions you want after having cleared them.

Another useful thing would be a toggle command. All lines stay in their place but they are hidden, and they re-appear when doing toggle again.

Sweet with the move function.

Though it would be better if you could make the clear command force the naming to start over with leu0, or make it possible to name the lines yourself when you create the lines.

I'm trying to make a macro that puts up all the lines I want.

/leu clear
/leu x
/leu move leu0 30
/leu x
/leu move leu1 45

But if I run this more than one time... the names will become leu2, leu3 etc...

Hmm.. Is it just me that is unable to create a secondary etc. Y line? X lines work perfectly, but recently creating multiple Y lines have stopped working.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

The ability to draw any number of lines and position them wherever I need them so I can keep my UI straight (no pun intended!) is invaluable for someone who gets the twitches bad as soon as she looks at a crooked painting on the wall or something like that.

One questions though, is there an option to keep the lines from one session to another. When building my interface I keep relogging to enable or disable addons and losing all those lines is a pain.
