FuBar - VoiceFu  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.0.0b
by: triam [More]

VoiceFu is a FuBar add on that shows who is talking on your chosen voice chat program (eg: Ventrilo or Teamspeak).

Simply bind you press to talk button to the provided key bind (either in the built in Blizzard Key Bindings interface or directly from the FuBar menu) then get all the people using the same server/channel to do the same (that's the hard part) and you will never again wonder who that is yelling for a heal again!

Apparently a lot of people use keys that Blizzard considers modifier keys for their press to talk buttons (CTRL, Shift, etc.). Unfortunately, you cannot bind these keys in the program... I am going to try to figure out a way to work around it though. But don't hold your breath.

Screenshots will be up as soon as I can log in and get them.

This is the initial release, and might still have some bugs in it. Please report them. I was only able to test it with 3 people. Please let me know how its working for you.

Version History

-- 1.0.0b
Got rid of my debugging code that was spamming the chat frame... sorry again. :-\

-- 1.0.0a
Apparently I forgot to change a name on one of the lines I copied from elsewhere for the versioning. Its fixed now... Sorry

-- 1.0.0 Initial Release

That's really too bad... The idea of this is totally awesome. If I could use a key other than a modifier that would work but I don't have any that I don't use like that... I wonder if I could use my "Back" button on my keyboard... Anyone know if you can unbind those special buttons and allow them to be used as a vent hotkey?

Triam -
You should do a search on Teamspeak Overlay or Ventrilo Overlay
It might be easier for you to hook into those programs than the actual chat program.

No, I haven't figured out a way to bind ctrl yet by itself. It can be a modifier key, but not by itself.

As for having to have everyone using VoiceFu, yes, everyone must be using it in order to see and send that they are talking. I am thinking of setting up an option to send a normal chat message whenever someone starts and/or stops talking, so people not using VoiceFu can see that/who is talking.
